Took my dog to Dr. Smith a few months back due to a limp. I suggested x-rays and he said it was not necessary because it was a torn tendon or ligament not a fracture or a broken bone. The only way to repair the torn tendon/ligament is a $5000 surgery but it was not a guarantee. He just kept prescribing her carprofen to make her comfortable but there was hardly any improvement. As of this weekend, my dog could not walk at all. Found a Dr. who is more familiar with her breed and did x-rays. The x-ray indicated spinal issues and hip problems. A prescription medley was given to see how she responds to the meds. If that doesn't work, a simple surgery will correct the issue but at the fraction of the cost. This whole time she was misdiagnosed and suffering in pain. If Dr. Smith took a little more effort to research her symptoms, breed and took x-rays, this problem would of been resolved months ago.

I can not say enough about this wonderful group of people who have cared for my beloved pets for several years. Dr. Smith has been my hero and has done so much for me and my pets. This is a great animal hospital and the staff go way beyond what is expected of them to help your pet and you. I love this group of people and would never change our veterinarian. ***WARNING PET OWNERS*** If you have used or have thought about using Sienna Animal Hospital here in Sienna, beware. We have used the facility since 2010 when they were initially located in the Bees Creek Shopping Center. It is apparent that they have new ownership/management since the move to their stand alone building. Here lately and with a new puppy, our first two visits there have been "nightmares." The Doctor and assistant both inefficiently wanted to force unnecessary extreme last resort treatments at both visits that are simply common to the breed which any first year resident Vet would know. Furthermore, after reviewing our bill, it is quite apparent that deceptive practices are in play. Our bills had numerous erroneous charges that were never discussed or agreed to. From the standpoint of a loving owner of numerous pets, this veterinarian clinic in my view and experiences with them shows complete disregard for the health and welfare of their customers and most importantly the pets that they are being paid to treat. Saddening but true, I liken this experience to the pressures of a new car salesmen experience.

Dr Smith and his Staff are Exceptionally Warm, Caring, Competent Professionals. We have been trusting them with our beloved four legged family members since we moved to Sienna several years ago and have never regretted it. The care and genuine concern provided is unparalleled.
