The Dr. and the staff were very friendly and most helpful. We required emergency service for one of our baby Chihuahuas on a Sunday and they were very gracious. Thank you for your quality care and service!!!

We use Ward Vet for all of our pets from cats, dogs, kids ag projects of goats and lambs and horses and they have been wonderful. Very helpful and compassionate, even calling after visits to check on any animal that was brought in. I recommend them to everyone I know.

I took my cat in to be neutered about a year ago, and had no reason to feel that the staff was anything but competent and caring. Spike is an extremely vocal cat, and I heard one of the staff "conversing" with him as they brought him back to me. Today I took him in because he had been vomiting. Again, staff (both vet and tech) were gentle, helpful, and competent. Spike is a large but friendly cat, but he was frightened. Not only were they patient with him, but the were very professional in discussing tests, costs, and outcomes. Also detailed and careful in instructions to be carried out at home. Of course, obscenities are never appropriate. (See review below.) But as a nurse for many years prior to changing professions, I know that sometimes the need for safety and to care for the ill or injured (people or pets) may seem to make caregivers seem less than kind--usually because the focus is on the care. I'm happy that Spike's two experiences have been so positive, and I wish the best of luck to those who didn't have such a good experiencein their new vets. We all love our pets and want the best for them. Sara

My girlfriend and I had been feeding and became attached to some semi-feral cats. We ended up catching a couple before i had to move and were in the process of domesticating them. However, they were still very skittish. The female needed to be spayed and I called and made an appointment with Ward‘s Animal Hospital. I informed the person who was making the appointment that this was a semi-feral cat and asked if they seemed to think that would be a problem, which they replied would not. We took her in and I spoke with one of their vets...again...explaining that this was a semi-feral cat and that they would need to be cautious because she was still terrified around anyone else but us. I was again reassured. Went to get her the next day. Paid the cashier and waited, and waited, and waited....after 45 minutes the cashier admitted that our girl had gotten out of her cage and the staff was trying to locate her. This same cashier laughed and said that our girl had gotten away from them the day I dropped her off and that they had a heck of a time catching her. Finally locating her in a closet. This same cashier then told us not to worry and relayed a charming tale of how another lady had been put in the same situation. Her cat had gotten away from them and had somehow gotten into the attic. According to the cashier this lady had to come to Wards for a week or so and try to lure her cat out of the attic with cat food. Finally, the staff asked if we would go into the back part of their office to help look for our cat. We spent about an hour looking for her when one of their staff saw that our kitten had somehow gotten behind and wedged into the machinery of their refrigerator. We pulled the fridge out and she was wrapped behind the coils, some of which were very hot. She hissed and bit when trying to extract her from the fridge and the staff member then said he was scared of cats and went to get what looked like welding gloves to drag her out. I told the vet to get a tranquilizer and knock her out as I felt she had been terrorized enough. The vet complied and a few minutes later she was out of the fridge, limp, smelling of her own urine and a very swollen eye (no idea how that happened....so wish she could talk). The vet cleaned her up and told us to have her back in to remove her stitches. The vet gave us a tranquilizing pill to make the return visit easier. Needless to say we did not bring her back to them. The entire situation reeked of incompetence. Most Sincerely, Dirk W. Kadyk

Regarding the previously posted review, this is the staff member whom apparently abused this horse. Abuse, for those of us who throw it around is a very powerful word. Using a whip or flag is a tool we like to us if needed. 95% of the time the whip is simply just shown to the horse. There is no concrete step the horse was backed over, (the stocks have thick mats on the floor). If shaking the lead for the horse to back and saying back up is abusive, well... I will let you decide this one for yourselves. For a osteoarthritic horse he certainly moved very well, considering he balked twice before even entering into the stocks, and again once in the stocks. (no whip was being used at this time). Personally I feel that this episode happened because there were to many people in the stocks (about 5 people) which I should not have let happen. What i feel i did wrong was misread the client.
