After waiting for 3 hours at this emergency clinic Dr LoSasso met with me & informed me he considered my visit "non-emergent" & the only thing he had discovered is Winston (9 yr old golden retriever) is obese & needs his teeth cleaned. I did not take Winston in for a weight analysis. I took him in because he refused food & water all day & had a strange cough & lethargic. Dr LoSasso was the most rude human being I have come in contact with in quiet some time. If he had in fact even looked at Winston he would have known he has a very large frame, very tall, very large dog & he is no more than 5 lbs overweight. Regarding his teeth, he does not need them cleaned but has gingivitis & undergoing treatment for it. Considering he did not bring Winston to me & we met in private I doubt seriously he even examined him but read the nurses notes. This would be the same nurse who told me Winston may have been sick due to our sudden drop in temperature. In fact, Winston was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection, aka, kennel cough when I took him to his regular vet today. He is now on the proper meds after a proper examination by a qualified veterinarian which LoSasso is not! I am very sorry for the other two families who were there with their little dogs, one being a 13 week old Husky & very susceptible to kennel cough. The other little dog was also exposed. Actually, there were only four other patients there & we all had to wait an awfully long time for the most unqualified vet I have ever been to. Obviously, I will not ever go back as there are other emergency hospitals in our area as well as mobile vets if I have an after hours emergency in the future. LoSasso, you do not deserve the title of Doctor!

I can see that many owners are maybe some way "mad". Some of them might have lost their pets and we always want to blame some body for that. Me and my wife had a terrible experience, our yorky felt from the car and hit his head, he immediately started to seize and wasn't able to breath, we gave him mouth to mouth while his tongue started getting blue...thank god he came back...It was Saturday 8PM so no vet's available...We rushed to this ER and they helped us with directions and guided us since we were so nervous we couldn't follow the gps... as soon as they saw us, they got the doctor who asked us about what happened, they rushed him inside and told us it would be better if he could leave him overnight for observation, we agreed and finished filling out all forms. We got home at 10Pm and waited until 1AM to call them and ask for updates, the nurse immediately transferred us with the Doctor, and he gave us all the answers that we were asking, also he was very patient and gave us extra info like the fact that he had ate and had gone No 1 and 2 already, that was VERY helpful for us to be able to sleep. after sleeping we called them at 7.30 A.M on sunday and told us that we could pick him up. It was a $300 USD bill medicine in place and to take home included, some of it was for pain and some was for brain inflammation, me and my wife paid without even thinking twice, having a Vet taking care of your dog on critical condition on a weekend, this is why this is an ER, after you leave the place they recommend you to take him with your usual vet for follow ups, and tell you if there's any concern or maybe doubts about anything, you can call them. I don't think this is over priced...sure...your vet might charge you between 35 and 45 or even more for consultation, but if you ever have an Emergency, any vet will charge fees depending upon the situation. At least that's how we see it. Hope this story helps people having problems finding a place were to go and they are not sure if all they will get is an outrageous bill from the clinic.

I have used Custer for years, but no more. They have been kind. My last two experiences were a nightmare. A long time Chihuahua owner, I am not new to the pet, still I let my new puppy go hypoglycemic, it happened.....twice. This is a rather small puppy. Both times they have insisted my pet has hydrocephalus. She is an apple head, her breeder has never produced one, my vet checked her and said her condition was hypoglycemia. The last time my husband took her, they had three of their vets insisting she has the disease. Literally backed my vet to the wall to recommend a specialist. We have used that special facility before as well also without incident. Had my vet not recommended a specialist, "was he hiding something"? The pup may have a very very mild case, but is not symptomatic of anything but hypoglycemia and a open fontanel.(Common for the breed, hers is a bit wide, still I have owned Chihuahuas) They don't seem to care for breeders and personally, if she should show signs, I will choose my own neuo doctor. Any result of even inconclusive would be sent to them and my vet and breeder tagged and I don't like that one bit. Pricey, but you pay for emergency care, still you pay up front and trust me they call the next day if one thing is off on your card. I have used these people at least 10 years....no more. Let me choose my neuro so it won't be biased against my vet or breeder. Personally, I think she will be fine, and if not, I will live with it and treat her accordingly even, worst case scenario and if she makes adulthood, I will take her to them to see them.

Cold and callous. Called them (still crying) to tell them that my baby had passed away less than a day after they let her go home after she had only stayed 27 hours with them after major surgery. I was only offered cremation services. Oh, but it's an extra $200 if I would like to have her remains. Every dollar I had, $4000, to save my baby's life only for her to be sent home too soon. And they still want more.

Staff not overly concerned with your pet, just your billing options. They advertise as "open when your vets closed". Trust us, you would do better just paying your vet to come in. Or find another.. it almost seems they use barely trained recent grads on their weekend rotation. Someone forgot to tell them that weekend emergency shift means EMERGENCY WEEKEND SHIFT. We've had to sacrifice our youngest loved one on the alter of "weekend learning curve" ignorance.... They are totally incompetent. We'd find another vet before this one for sure.
