I think a couple people who posted reviews must have had bad outcomes with their pets and are shooting the messenger so to speak. He is one of the kindest vets I have ever taken my pets to. When *I* decided it was time for my 17-year old cat to be put to sleep due to her health problems, I could not have asked for a more kind and understanding vet and staff. He continues to be my vet for my other cat and two dogs and will be my vet as long as I have pets and he has a practice.

I have been a client of Dr. Mike for 23 years (1987). The care that he has given to all my pets has always been first class. He is also a gifted surgeon and quite inventive in solving difficult problems (the girdle for JoJo). He is the only Dr. my 14 year old cat has known. Due to his great care and information, my cat is the picture of health, even for her advanced age. When I first came to Dr. Mike, I had one dog and 3 cats. All 4 lived to an old age and he was very caring when it was time to let them go Home. I currently have the 14 yr old cat and one schnauzer (pup) registered with Dr. Mike. I have had the unfortunate luck of having to go to this vet twice in my life and both times I really hate the experience. Both times were when my regular vet was on vacation. The first time was when out cat had gotten out an in a fight, the other when my cat had her liver fail. Instead of trying to help he basically said he wanted to just kill my cat. Luckily I was not going to allow him to murder my 2 yr out kitty, and had him patch her up to take her to my vet the following Monday. Five years later she is alive and well because my vet actually cared.

As a new Pet "Parent" I had a lot of concerns from what is the best food to how much exercise to give my new puppy. He patiently listened to me and answered all of my questions. When my pup had an upset stomach and could not eat Dr. Mike gave me a receipe for my dog that not only made her better but took a load of worry off my shoulders. He is a very caring and compasionate person - he loves my dog and cares about the people as well. I would highly recommend him.

There are lots of veterinarians in the DFW Metroplex. Until the last one closes, I will not take any of my animals to see Dr. McLaughlin. His medicine is outdated, his cavalier attitude about pain and surgical procedures is bewildering, and he is belittling and overbearing to absolutely everyone, if you can see past the nauseating smarm. Corners are cut in this practice, but you still pay full price.
