We took our 4yo pit bull in for a second opinion about her skin problems almost a year ago. The place we initially took her seemed to be at a loss, they did try to figure out what was wrong and attempted a couple of different treatments but when it didn't work they basically said "Well, I dont know what else to do." We decided to try a different vet before calling Dr Daigle (who I have heard is amazing but would be very expensive) Immediately after walking through the doors at Forest Creek we felt we were in the right hands. We saw Dr Breclaw and she was determined to find the right diagnosis. We tried some different tx options but the next step was to take a biopsy or two which we were not ready for. Just recently we brought our baby back in because nothing helped. We were ready for the biopsy. Long story short, the tests all together were not cheap but we never felt pressured, it was evident that everyone was sensitive about the fees. I have complete confidence that we are on the right path and will have some answers soon. The entire staff is so friendly and compassionate but professional. Their concern for our baby and sensitivity towards us as well was very refreshing. These guys are friendly, honest, and compassionate. Thanks so much!!!
My wife and I got our first dog from the Williamson County Animal Shelter and looked around for a vet. FCAH had great reviews and was near us so we decided to try them out. She had an ear infection and some sores that looked infected, so they gave us some ear drops and general antibiotics. They also did a test for mange that came back negative. Fast-forward a month, the ear infection is gone, the sores are going away, but she's losing fur...a lot of fur. The vet says it's probably allergies and give us some hypoallergenic food, more antibiotics and a steroid. She also does a mange test again (claiming the first test wasn't conclusive) which again comes back negative. We come back 2 weeks later, our dog looking worse, and she still says it's just allergies and to keep her on the antibiotics and steroid. After our dog continues to get worse, we decide to try a different vet at Banfield. The vet walks in and within 2 minutes of looking at our dog says it's fungus. He takes some samples that later confirm his suspicion, gives us some medicine and sends us on our way. Now our dog looks great and healthy. Basically, we dropped over $500 at FCAH trying to figure out what was wrong with our dog when a $30 appt at Petsmart proved more helpful. We've since switched to Banfield. tl;dr version: If you have plenty of money to drop and time to waste, this is the place for you. If you're on a budget and want better care, try Banfield in Petsmart.
This review is long over due. We were in need of a new vet because our wonderful vet passed away. A friend recommended Forest Creek so we checked it out. Routine visits were ok, a little pricey but ok. The problem came when one of our dogs had something wrong with his paw and ears. I brought him in multiple times to see Dr. Peck, we went in 5-6 times, went through at least 3 tests, and 10 different meds to "fix" what was wrong with our dog. Dr. Peck could never figure it out. He thought he got something in his paw initially and when it would go away and come back he just prescribed more medicine and recommended surgery. So, after spending close to 2000.00 dollars and my dog still not better I found another vet! I went to the new vet and on the first visit he told me it was allergies. The other problem I had with Dr. Peck is his lack of patience, care, and over all customer service. For some reason this is the only vet my dog never liked, they actually had to muzzle him which was never done at our previous vet or has to be done at our new vet.... only had to be done at Forest Creek? Dr. Peck was rude, condescending, and was especially irritable when I had to bring my 3 year old daughter in with us because of the multiple visits...maybe our beagle picked up on that too!
Forest Creek does good work, and can usually get you in on the same day due to their large staff, but it's expensive compared to other vets. But at least you get what you pay for..
From the very start we were impressed with this vet. After scheduling our initial appointment we had to change the time at the last minute and the staff was very accommodating. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly and eager to help staff in addition to a clean waiting room. Dr. Peck was fantastic with the dogs and his demeanor helped calm down our somewhat jumpy dogs. He answered all of our questions and was especially helpful regarding our Labrador. On the way out we were once again pleased with the courteous staff (prompt and friendly service used to be a given but seems to be increasingly rare). We look forward to many years of visits and are very happy to have found such a great facility.
