Great, caring service. Dr Kniffin is knowledgable, helpful and very reasonably priced. Gave us multiple options for treating our dog and was by our side every step of the way. Highly Recommend.
Do not bring animals here if money is at all any kind of issue for you. Yes, it's very expensive. Aside from that, they will tell you things you need to do (buy) that are not required. As a first time dog owner, I took my new dog here because it was the closest to my house. They said she had some serious problems, that would cost $300-$500 a month for at least 2 months. I had to take her back to the Williamson County Humane Society as I could not afford everything she "needed". The Humane vets and animal caretakers there told me she just had a very common problem, that would be cured with very little effort. No where near the nightmare this vet had told me. Unfortunately, the damage was done and I had to surrender her anyway...but if I had gone to another vet that could have cured her correctly, I'd still have my dog.
I've been taking my pets here for over 10 years. Wonderful staff, caring and warm. Smart doctor with a lot of knowledge that he shares in an easy-to-understand way. Easy access on HWY 79 and I never have problems getting an appointment. Prices are reasonable and they definately don't try to push services you don't need which I really appreciate. Another nice thing is that when you have an appointment you generally are never kept waiting in the waiting area - they take you right back and see you right away. They even do the "check out" in the room so you don't have to be struggling with your pet in the waiting area with other pets while you pay - it's a nice touch. They really work their appointments well so you are in and out quickly (without feeling rushed out the door). We'll definately be going back ! :-)
We love Dr. K and all of his staff. Been going there for about 20 years now...continuing to drive in from Austin to use him as vet. A couple of times we went to Austin vets because they were closer - what a mistake. They know all of our pets by name without looking at their files and a lot of times I don't even have to identify myself on the phone! They care about animals that much. Plus they have 2 permanent cats at the office - I love "shop cats!"
