I took one of my boxers in and had a sock removed by DR Hemenway and had no issues. I had to take her in again because she thinks she's a goat and the new Vet named Wallace not only tried adding on more useless charges but waited until the my dog was so severe before doing surgery she almost died. They used cold intravenous fluids causing her temp to drop to an almost dead 96 and then used a heating blanket to try to warm her back up. The heating blanket caused an internal chemical burn by heating up the chemicals at every spot they had given her a shot at. It cost me another $500 to get the Chemical burns treated so as not to become septic and neither Vet takes any responsibility for any of the actions. Just today we had to take another boxer back because her face swelled up after the only new things introduced to her where the meds prescribed and did any of the Vets take responsibility? Nope you guessed right and then had the nerve to try and charge me to get her back to normal. Then took the drugs I had already paid for away and I got nothing but grief and my dog is still sick. Karma catches up with us all eventually!! You should care more about the job you do and people's pets!
We have taken our pets to Saginaw Animal Hospital for over 10 years. They have always been very caring with each one, especially as they got older. Heidi, our 8-year-old terrier, was in a lot of pain due to a chronic condition. We took her in and they let us spend some quality time with her and even hold her as she passed. We also took Claudia, our now 17-year-old Catahola, in to be with her friend, which seemed to add some closure for her. Claudia has reached her longevity in part because of their care. Maggie, our 7-year-old terrier, doesn't like to go to the vet, but they calm her down. They know us by name when we call, know our furbabies' names, and always are more than willing to help us. After each appointment, the doctor we have seen always calls us back the next day to see how they are doing. I don't think I would go to another animal hospital unless it was a special problem that Dr. Hemingway could not handle and referred me to them.
My dachshunds have been going here for years. Recently 1 passed away at home. I took her up to the office and they gave me several options on what I wanted to do with her. They gave me as much time as I needed before I handed over my baby. They were extremly kind! A week later I received a poem hand signed by all the staff and a dog angel pin that I keep in my car. They don't have to do that. They went so far above and beyond. I really appriciate these people.
I love the personalized care my puppy got. They have a great staff and the docs are fantastic! Plus, I love that I got a reminder postcard for my pup's meds. =)
