Tried this vet because I was referred by my regular vet. I regret taking the advice. I found it interesting that the $40 medication that was the cure for my dogs bowel obstruction came with a $1,050 bill to establish what was actually wrong, though I was never told what the name of the condition was. The reason I give them a 1-star is because of their lack of communication and un-knowledgeable staff. On four separate occasions over two days they said they would be performing an examination and would call with results shortly, and on four occasions I was forced to call them to get updates. Twice the exam hadn't even occurred (8 hours after they said it would). The answers they gave over the phone were of no help what-so-ever; they could confirm (or not) that the exam happened, but not what was determined. I got a lot of "He's fine. He hasn't thrown up." and "He's sleeping." The only time I got to speak with a doctor all he did was read the notes that a different doctor had written. He couldn't answer my questions because he wasn't the person who had examined the dog (the other doctor had left without calling me to update). When I finally picked up my dog, the technician who explained the bill couldn't explain all of the charges (you know how doctors use abbreviations and code numbers) nor could she say what the actual cause of the bowel obstruction was. I asked her for a diagnosis and she gave be a blank stare, then said, "Don't worry, this medication will help. And keep him on a bland diet for the next few days." "What do you mean by bland?" "You know, canned chicken. Maybe mixed with rice." "So, canned food?" "Yeah. But you can use dry food too, that's ok." A wonderful explanation for taking care of my dog who is sick with a disease you can't name. Additionally, the CD they gave me with the x-rays and ultra sounds they took has files without extensions. They charged $168 for this CD which has files that can't be opened on a home computer. The next time I have an emergency with my pet, I think I'll just stay with my normal vet.

Look at the companies mission statement and then read my experience with this facility. Absolutely a disgrace to our community Sunday evening, I was startled when I heard a man screaming for help, uncontrollably crying, as I rushed outside, I learned it was my next door neighbor cradling his dog Bullet, a three year old boxer. My husband immediately got the dog and the dogs owner Curtis to your hospital. They didn't take the time to run inside the house and grab our check books and credit cards. My husband had to return home briefly, and he advised me that basically there wasn't anything they could do because the dogs owner, and the young man who hit the dog, didn't qualify for your credit program. At this point, I arrived at the clinic and explained that the owner (Curtis) is a Gulf War Veteran, he has been through a lot including returning from overseas, to find himself in the building at Ft. Hood Texas where the mass shooting occurred. Although Curtis works, he has had a hard time adjusting and his dog Bullet had been the only one by his side since he came home. The dog literally was everything to him and all he had. I asked the receptionist to relay this information to the on call Doctor (Hall). She never picked up the phone, she never even bothered to get out of the chair. She could care less and it was obvious! Meanwhile, Curtis the dogs owner, was uncontrollably whaling in the lobby. He was told since he didn't have money for a $200.00 x-ray he should just put the dog down, I was willing to pay $200 for the x-ray, but when I spoke with Dr. Hall she advised that no matter what the x-ray showed (broken bone, surgery, etc. ...in addition to the x-ray there would other expenses) My concern was getting the x-ray and basing a decision on the findings and extent of injuries. It became more apparent that regardless of the circumstance, and despite having three unrelated adults (all of them residing in your community) willing to accept financial responsibility, and the fact that I have used the same vet for my 4 dogs for over ten years, and have a perfect credit rating with Dr. Rogers at Critter Fixxer. (They were closed). I suggested that Dr. Hall keep the dog alive overnight until I could find someone who appreciated U.S. Veterans Service to our country, and would be willing to at least find out the extent of the injuries. At which point she said "We would still have to pay fees for the overnight stay, IV, pain med,....in advance. Which Is pretty ridiculous because the bill would have been paid when we picked the dog up to take him to another vet. I find it very disturbing that your facility couldn't have made an exception considering the circumstances, it was painfully obvious Curtis was so distraught over his dog and not in his right mind, he actually consented and changed his mind about putting the dog down three times, because your staff couldn't extend credit on 1 x-ray for one night, so he could make an informed decision. Instead your staff convinced him into putting the dog down by telling him he was suffering without even finding out what was wrong with him, over a $200 x-ray that I know for a fact is marked up significantly. I really don't think the Veterans, Animal Lovers or the residents of Spring ,Texas will understand how your facility treated a man who put his life on the line for this country. Nobody asked or expected you to provide free services, only allow a payment arrangement with three different guarantor's. You all should be ashamed.
