Our beloved cat was only seen by Dr. Brust. On first impression, he seemed nice enough---don't be fooled. Our cat saw him 3 times in the course of a month----WORST MISTAKE OF OUR LIVES!!! He was first seen for decreased appetite and vomiting, labs were done and we were told it was gastritis and given antibiotic and steroid shots and antibiotics. He did okay for a lil bit then stopped eating again and vomiting white foam---we went back he ordered more labs tests, more antibiotics for this "infection" that he couldn't specify where. Another week and a half passes by and now cat walking funny and not eating. He goes back in and more lab tests and told he needs another stronger antibiotic for the so called " infection" that isn't specified where. In retrospect, not once was a stethoscope use in our presence. The last time he insisted that cat be kept overnight for observation----when we called for updates..no one could tell us if cat stooled or not...and also we weren't aware that there was no one there overnight to so call "observe". The kicker was when at the last visit he was happy that the cat lost 1 lb....I don't call that a good thing from being sick and not intentionally trying to lose it. Checked on your cat and was told he was doing much better and eating. We went to pick him up and got home...he got out of his carrier and that was the worst we had ever seen him look....sluggish, taking only a couple of steps and then lying down, wobbly and limping.....we were HORRIFIED...we called the office and was told all was normal because of strong antibiotic. We watched him that night and into next morning and then syringe fed to keep hydrated. By that night breathing fast...took to ER and they did xray (which Dr. Brust never once mentioned with a vomiting lethargic cat)....our beloved cat had lymphoma with pulmonary edema and ER physician heard crackles...he decompensated and was in so much distress that he had to put to sleep. So in summary the diagnostic skills suck and predominantly dependent on labs and not physical exam skill....would never even let my worst enemy take a pet there. If your pet is sick...TRUST ME...GO ELSEWEHERE.
