The care and concern shown to me and my sick kitty was outstanding. When the news was bad, the compassion was heartfelt and the doctors and staff truly voiced their concern. I felt we were in the thick of it together in partnership. I would recommend this clinic to anyone with an animal that requires special care.
STAY AWAY!!! ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY! I brought two of my fur babies here. Mind you i was at a very weak position when i brought my babies. My babies were dying and all they were worried about is getting 5k out of me, in order to "save" my babies. As soon as i walked in with one of my dogs, the receptionist saw my baby and immediately called for help...I was super scared and worried and was baling my eyes out. She takes out a form saying I need to pay for 500 to begin her procedure. Only a few secs later she gets a buzz from the back...she tells me, "Your dogs heart beat stop, you need to put $300 dollars so they can perform CPR"...mind you I have not even been there 10 minutes. My mom hasn't even got a chance to come inside because she was parking the car...That was already $800 dollars they tried to take out of me. To make the story short, they said one of my dogs might make it and the other one might not. Oh, and in order to start their procedure just for that night it was going to be 5k... I had to put one of my babies down. Saddest part is the one that i didn't they assured me that she was going to make it...to put 4k for her i trusted them...they ended up not being able to save my baby girl. :( Now I'm broke and dog less...Talked to our vet that my puppies usually go too. He said my dogs have no cure for what they had. Basically, the "specialist" at this heartless place knew my dog had not chance of surviving and robbed me for 4k. Please if anyone else had been through this email personally i want to do something about this. This isn't fair!
Very upset with this facility, after spending almost $5000.00 dollars for surgery and after care for my 2-yr old Lab, This facility is very careless, After taking him for emergency services due to him chewing through his soft collar and tearing up his bandages, after surgery they charged us for the replacement of it and the next day when he was picked up, they re charged us for another bandage placement along with other fees that they took upon themselves to charge. The e.r, the vet, and the receptionist gave us 3-diferent story's on why they had to re-bandage him once again. They played the blame game on everyone except for themselves, the last straw was his follow up this past Tuesday 12/02/14. He was dropped off at 7:15am as scheduled for a simple bandage replacement, he was in a kennel until about 3:00pm unattended, during that entire time he managed to eat his entire previous bandage, while the nurse was in the room telling how good he was doing and explaining medications...I don't understand how they can be so irresponsible and not even realize what he had eaten. When they went to bring him out, they took longer than usual they let the receptionist know that he would have to be re-bandaged once again so I had to wait to take him home. My lab was not the same that entire evening he wouldn't eat nor drink water (not like him) he eats very well. At 5:00am the next morning my lab threw up what is bandages to the point where it was so much of it that my husband and I were in shock! I have pictures, and when we contacted the administrator all she said was that she didn't believe our story and that she didn't think it happen there while under their care. I will never ever again take him there, all they care about is money. She didn't even apologize for what happen. I feel they should have been honest with me and let me know what happen and they should off made him throw up and taken x-rays to ensure he was alright but they didn't. What if is the question, it makes me upset to even think if we had not been home what could off happen. We are working on getting his file transferred to a different specialist and we hope not to deal with Sugar Land Veterinary Specialist ever again. I hope you read this and respond because I'm still in shock in regards to this unresolved issue.... I feel you should take responsibility.
We are new to the area and had a scare with our golden retriever last night. We called and the vets office stayed on the phone with us to make sure we got there quickly and safely! Turns out some South Texas skunks do smell like diesel fuel :) The assistant quickly evaluated my dog, gave us a special shampoo recipe and sent us home... free of charge. FREE of charge. In and out in 10 minutes with smiles and reassurance. The homemade recipe worked and we have found our new lifelong emergency vet!
The staff at this establishment is professional, kind and caring. I brought my dog in for emergency service, and they quickly took her back to make sure she was ok. I was given support in the time of being so scared and worried about my little "fur-baby". Dr. Oakley and his staff deserve high praises for their wonderful care and I am thankful to them for my healthy dog back at home, every day. I would recommend them and return to them in a heartbeat!
