Hands down the best animal hospital in the Salt Lake area! We have 3 dogs and 6 cats and have had to use their emergency services as well as have our animals visit for various reasons over the past few years. We had previously visited a few different animal hospitals in the Salt Lake Valley only to have our animals mis-diagnosed and become deathly ill and ended up at Cottonwood Animal Hospital who, without fail, accurately diagnosed them, treated them and made them well again. They may be a bit more expensive than other veterinary clinics, but they are worth every penny. Their veterinarians are some of the best I've come across and everyone is incredibly caring and compassionate and take the time to listen to what's going on. They could use a bigger parking lot (and maybe a bigger facility). We will never again take our animals anywhere else, this animal clinic is simply the best around!

After several consultations with other orthopedics in the valley, we once again decided to go with Dr. Bagley at Cottonwood Animal Hospital. We are certainly glad we did. Our 10 year old Springer Spaniel was suffering with a partially torn ACL and we knew we needed to repair this for her so she could quickly get back to her active lifestyle. Dr. Bagley has operated very successfully on Jenny in the past, so we knew we needed his opinion on her current situation. After a very thorough examination, Dr. Bagley recommended the TPLO procedure to repair her knee. He gave us a very detailed description of how the procedure is performed and even allowed us to tour the surgery area and see the hardware he would be using. He assured us that this was the best option for her. As a very nervous pet owner, this was not an easy decision. We are currently 4 weeks post-op and Jenny is doing fantastic! She was walking on her leg within a few days and each day since has been an improvement. She currently takes 15-20 min walks a few times a day and if it were up to her she would do an hour. We are confident she will make a full recovery and we are thrilled. For anyone facing this decision, I would strongly urge you to meet with Dr. Bagley. Once again, he was the right choice:)

I have used Cottonwood Animal Hospital for the last 7 years and they have been amazing to work with. I will forever be grateful for the compassion and kindness they showed me during the loss of my best friend. Dr. Porter is a great vet and Dr. Tracy was so kind and compassionate during the whole process. I will use their expertise for the rest of my life.. Honest compassion.

This is not our usual vet. We took our dog here because our vet (who we love) was closed when this incident happened. Our dog got her dew claw caught in the patio slats and tore it when she stood up. We immediately took her in (around 7:30 pm) as her nail was sticking out at a strange angle and bleeding. They informed us that they may have to sedate her, but they would decide that after taking her back. They did not sedate her and they gave her back to us with a bandaged paw and told us to take off the dressing in a few days. The next day she was limping... we assumed it was sore. After 48 hours she was still limping and when we went to take off the bandage she SCREAMED. (Our dog is NOT a baby. She didn't cry or whimper or make a peep after tearing her CCL ligament and while recovering from TPLO surgery.) We tried to take it off again and she whimpered. I called Cottonwood and and they said they were closing in 10 minutes so we'd have to make an appointment for the morning. We took her in this morning and you could hear her yelping in the back while they examined her. They said it was infected and because of the way it was broken, her soft tissue was exposed. They had to sedate her and cut it off at the root. They sent us home with antibiotics and pain medication. All in all these two visits cost us $300. I'm upset because it seems like this should have been taken care of in ONE visit. If her nail was broken so badly that the soft tissue was exposed, why did they not just sedate her and cut it off to begin with? Or at the very least have the common sense to send us home with antibiotics then? I can't help but wonder if they didn't sedate her and take care of this at the first visit because they were almost closed and they did not want to do the procedure. Also, when we tried to call last night, they were more interested in closing than seeing our dog and making sure she was okay. We will NOT be returning to this vet ever again.

Best vet in the valley. Brought my 2 dogs in after they ate some snail bait (extremely toxic, causes seizures and death) and Dr. Anderson and the techs would come check on my best friends even on their days off. I could not be more appreciate of the service I received at Cottonwood Animal Hospital.
