Banfield Hospital has redeemed themselves! After having a really crappy & unfortunate experience with them, I wrote a survey & received a call directly from their hospital manager and they were great in making things right. And yes-I will go back to them for care of my puppy.
No. No. No. I don't care if they charge less, my cat is my baby and deserves to be treated as such no matter where he goes. I had just discovered that Peanut was throwing up bile and his food, he couldn't hold anything down whatsoever, we bought him catgrass and he wouldn't eat it, so when I heard him throw up again I decided that he was going to the vet. I called a couple places and found Banfield was the cheapest, I asked if they had any appointments available for the day and was told that if I could get him there in the next 5 minutes or so they could fit him in. I get him there, and they weigh him right out there in the lobby, how many other sick cats could have stood on that thing? They continued through the admittance process while I filled out a paper and answered questions, while I'm doing my part the vet assistant is opening my pet carrier putting some paper collar around him, asking if she can write his name on his carrier and then asks if I want to take the carrier home with me or not. I didn't realize what she was doing until she told me she was taking my 5 month old kitten to the back and the lady behind the counter was telling me it would be an hour wait and that the vet was on lunch, how wonderful. I wouldn't even be allowed to sit with my kitten while they poked and prodded at him. I drove away bawling, and very sick at heart 2 hours after dropping him off I walked in at, 3pm (keep in mind most vet offices close at 6/7) and asked if the vet had time to look at him, they said no and when I asked when she would, they told me Peanut would likely be there all afternoon. I asked for my kitten back right then, something was wrong with him and it needed to be fixed. When the assistant came back they had written "Peanuts" on his carrier, I didn't realize my cat was plural. We took him to our usual vet, which did cost more but found out his kidneys had stopped working and that his chances were fairly low. I wasted two hours with him sitting in who knows what conditions when he should have been taken care of as soon as possible due to his physical ailments. He is now doing much better after aggressive work on mine and my vets part. I want everyone to know that this hospital was nothing but poor service and empty words. My kitty might not be where he is today if I had left him in their hands.
We added pet insurance through them for $25 a month and it covers two comprehensive exams a year, all de-worming and shots, extra visits and discounts on antibiotics etc. I love it as one visit more covers more than half the cost of the insurance. We have saved hundreds of dollars. They are very good there too.
Always had a good experience with them. Don't know why there are so many negative reviews.
I've taken my kitten into Banfield several times and have always had a positive experience. Our kitten Nightmare the sphinx has always been taken care of and well received by the cheerful staff. The prices do seem a little high but our visits have always been quick and helpful.
