We moved to Sugar House Veterinary Hospital two years ago after our vet of 25+ years passed away unexpectedly, and have been very pleased with the service we have received there. They have been so willing to accommodate us when having emergencies with senior dogs, and always willing to to help in any way. We love Dr. Lattimore and Dr. Barton, especially, but there are other docs there we haven't tried yet. Would be happy to recommend to anyone!
I have had 4 dogs over the last 30 years. They all have gone to Sugarhouse Veterniary Hospital. I would give it the highest rating. They follow up. They are thorough and they are very helpful. I think at one time or another I have worked with all the Dr.s and technicians at the clinic I have found them all to be professional and very sensitive to the needs of my pets. I have recommended them to all my frieds looking for a Veterinary Hospital and would continue to do so.
I'm really glad I found them. New to the state, my dog started experiencing issues. I started with another vet, who turned out to see me only as dollar signs. Ended up with SHVH and couldn't be happier with the service. My now senior dog needs special care. When I call in, Dr. Latimer and staff are helpful. My calls are returned the same day, they remember who I am, and take the time to speak with me. Thank you for the caring service SHVH.
Easy to get an appointment. Nice big waiting room, so you can create a safe space for your pet. Everyone who works there is very kind and loving towards animals. And, best of all, they don't get "preachy". They respect your "parenting" style while educating you about your pets needs, then they let you decide what's best.
I recently adopted a cat from the Humane Society. When I took him in for his first visit I was not very impressed with the doctor who helped. I knew my cat was pretty underweight and he had an eye infection. The doctor just said that the low weight was most likely his normal weight and the reason for his eye infection was a lack of production of tears. (I'm sorry I don't exactly remember the doctor that helped me and I don't want to guess for fear I give a bad review to the wrong person). About a week later my cat became very ill. It turns out he went into kidney failure most likely due to dehydration (which probably would account for the eye infection). Dr. Vetter was the one who took the case from there on out and she was so professional. My cat had to be hospitalized and she called me once or twice a day to give me updates. After my cat was released from the hospital she called a few days later to get an update from me to see how Merl was doing. I will be going back but requesting that all my dealings go through Dr. Vetter because she is such a good vet.
