The Vet was very grouchy with us. Seemed like he hated his job. He examined our cat w/o gloves whom had an infection, which seems so unsterile. He also left the cats fur and scabs and didn't clean up. He made me assist him in the exam, me the customer, rather than a trained assistant. Just so unprofessional and uncomfortable. And the exam room was tiny and cramped. Estimate for treatment was a lot! And they wouldn't do payment plans. Checked around and the first place I called was cheaper! Definitely do your homework.

Well...I must say after reading some of the negative reviews of Dr. Blotter I am shocked. One person said they had a problem with diagnosing a dog, another even had a bunny die during a routine procedure...ahhhh, that sounds awful, HOWEVER--I have had a 5 star experience with Dr. Blotter and been HIGHLY satisfied with his work. I raise rabbits. I have raised rabbits for a very long time and the first rabbit vet I found didn't take me seriously when I said I knew what I was doing with my rabbits. I also told her I really only needed her help in some specific areas--including neuters. She made me feel like she almost didn't have time for my questions, and definitely didn't respect my thoughts or opinions. Dr. Blotter has shown me both excellent service and respects my opinion AND answers all my questions, everytime. I have had (with friends I have recommended to Dr. Blotter) at least a dozen rabbits neutered. NEVER have I come back to the office to retrieve a dead rabbit or even one with problems. The Dr. also did my dogs teeth cleaning and quoted me a fair price and promised not to charge me more than we agreed if he had to pull a few teeth, he kept our agreement and did a great job with my tiny poodle. Overall, I have been very satisfied with Dr. Blotter and his front desk girls and will continue having him care for my rabbits and dogs. I highly recommend him and want to note that people have bad experiences with vets ALL THE TIME--it just happens. With a track record of neutering 12 rabbits problem free I feel confident recommending him to the general public.

Do your pets a favor and DON'T bring them to this place! When we first came across Dr. Blotter and his staff, we liked that they were all kind and seemingly knowledgeable. Little did we know (though the fact that there were never any other customers should have been a huge clue!) that they actually didn't know anything about caring for our pets. About a year ago we started noticing some blood in our poodle's urine (he was ten--i.e., still relatively young--at the time), so we promptly took him in. Based on some lab work, the vet said he was perfectly fine, and that it was probably an allergy. We even asked him whether it could be cancer, and he said "No." To treat this "allergy," he then went on to prescribe a series of medications. For a year, we went on believing it was an allergy, and gave him his medication regularly. We kept noticing the occasional blood drop, but thought it wasn't a big deal--that it was just that infamous allergy. A few weeks ago we finally decided that his situation needed better attention. So we took him to a veterinary kidney specialist, where we learned our poor doggie had a TUMOR in his bladder the size of a lemon--something we're sure the seemingly knowledgeable Dr. Blotter conveniently CHOSE NOT TO TELL US!! The specialist also told us he had about six months left with an operation and chemo, which sounded miserable to us. And based on some of our own observations and how fast the cancer seemed to have been spreading, we knew he had about a week left if it went untreated. So we made the VERY difficult decision to put him down that same day in order to protect him from any future pain. We regret the day we first went to Wasatch Springs. They don't know anything and would rather charge an arm and a leg to treat what doesn't even need treatment than actually cure and find the root of a problem. Had we found out a year ago we would have taken all the necessary measures then (it'd have been easier too, since the tumor would have been significantly smaller).

Reading online and talking to pet stores, we found it best to get your male rabbit neutered by the age of six months to help them live a longer healthier life, and to help with behavioral problems due to hormones developing. I took my tri-colored, six month old Mini Rex to this place. I was never told about any of the risks involving the neutering. Just to drop him off between 8 and 9 am and pick him up at 3. We got a call at 1 saying he was healthy during his pre examination and he did make it through surgery, but after giving him the wakeup shot they left him alone for 15 mins and they came back to a poor bunny with no heart beat. Charlie is DEAD. Charlie had changed our views about rabbits. He was potty trained with his cage and litter box, he did tricks, he loved all kinds of food and would jump on the couch and try to eat off our plates. He loved root bear floats. (although he didn't even get a teaspoon amount of it) He loved all things fluffy and would play with our feet every evening. He loved to lay by the door where he could feel the winter's cool air leak in, and he'd stick his feet out from under him. He was a happy bunny who would binky all over the house. He did chew on a lot of things, but was just getting to the fully trained perfect pet stage. Now he's gone. They didn't charge us for the surgery but gave us a phone number in case we wanted to sue as we were on our way out the door with our dead baby bunny. ONLY AFTER the surgery did the doctor tell us how delicate bunnies are, and apparently different from dogs and cats. IF I HAD KNOWN THAT BEFORE THE SURGERY I would have realized that it was worth NOT neutering him or to go SOMEWHERE ELSE no matter the cost. He said a specialist have other drugs that are more gentle on rabbits. IF HE HAD KNOWN THIS, WHY SAY YOU NEUTER RABBITS?! I told Charlie everything would be okay, those are the last words I said to my happy little boy. R.I.P Charlie, we love you and our hearts are aching for you.

I am quite happy with the service Dr. Blotter and his staff provided. His free examination was cursory but covered all the basics. I liked his comfortable, calm style. A young girl joined in on the examination. When I decided to follow through on his recommendations of a dental cleaning, I was quoted a reasonable price. No one expected teeth needing to be pulled, but they did pull three and the bill nearly doubled. Quite a shock, but understandable. I think I should have been more proactive, asking about possible complications/added costs. But the people were great and my dog is doing great now. I would definitely recommend this vet to a friend.
