We have been to Southeast Valley Vet twice so far and had a great experience both times. The first time, our cat had an infected injury and instead of recommending expensive treatment options like other vets at different offices had in the past, they were realistic and affordable with what we came up with and he recovered fully and quickly. (I'm not sure what the vet's name was but he was male and had a slight southern-sounding accent.) The second time we went we saw a different vet (not sure of her name either but she was blonde). Our cat had digestive issues. She was very friendly, spent plenty of time with us, answered questions, and offered different treatment plans with a range of prices, but didn't pressure us into expensive options where other vet offices had. They were even willing to collect a stool sample for me but my cat wouldn't cooperate. However, I was grateful for their willingness. They are currently renovating so I'm sure their office will look great when it's done.
Stay away! We had a TERRIBLE experience with this clinic. We took our Boxer in during emergency hours for a serious vomiting/coughing issue. The night vet couldn't see anything on the xray, so they kept him overnight. He said he would put something down his throat to try to push whatever foreign body was in there into his stomach, which we assume they did. The next day the dog was no better, and we were $450.00 poorer. When I picked up the dog, a different vet that was there said she was new, and said our dog was 'just a mystery dog' and that "it was nice to have a mystery once in awhile". This she said while LAUGHING, but it was no laughing matter to us. Our dog is still just as sick as when we brought him in and we had to pick him up with no answers as to what was causing it. They did give us some medication for coughing and an antibiotic, but this hasn't helped much. I asked what to do next and she said maybe to take him to a specialist and said there were two clinics that "had better vets with more training" than they did and better equipment too. This was very distressing and we are not happy. Neither is our dog, who is still extremely sick. We were given no answers whatsoever, only a "good luck" when we left. This is actually the second horrible experience I've had with them, the last time was even worse. I had no choice but to go back since it was late at night, but I might have just as well stayed home and prayed he made it through the night. I would NEVER go here again!
The techs and vets there were very helpful. My kitty was having trouble keeping food down after his neutering at another clinic and they saw him after hours, and advised by phone several times. Dr Gwen was excellent and the followup call was very much appreciated. Highly recommended. Loved them enough to go back during regular hours even though it's 30 min drive from home. Thank you !
Recently one of my dogs did some serious damage on my duck Decoy. Thanks to Dr. Anderson and his staff, I am happy to report Decoy is recovering. After a harrowing week, Decoy started to eat and is almost done with his antibiotics. Dr. Anderson has helped us in the past with other ducks and we have always been pleased with the services and his prices are not outrageous like other places. Also since a couple of years ago we lost our Vet - his name was Dan Good. We loved Dr. Good but he passed away two years ago. Anyway, now today I took my daughter's border collie to see Dr. Anderson for eye problems. Dr. Anderson was able to tell me what is wrong with our dog and prescribed some eye medication and rule out diabetes. The border collie's name is Beau. I am happy to report Beau is doing better also. I would recommend Southeast Valley Veterinary Hospital to everyone I know. I found out Dr. Anderson is great with all fur and feather critters. I really appreciate him being there for me when I was so stressed and upset as any parent gets when they see their family members suffering. 24sept14
STAY AWAY! This place is absolutely deplorable. They take all day (8-10) hours to groom my dog. We took him here two days ago for an emergency- his kneecap dislocated. They prescribed him drugs with no explanation and no paperwork. He started acting very strange, as if he couldn't use his legs properly. We called and informed them asking if the pills they prescribed could be the cause. They said no absolutely not. After 24 hours of his pitiful face we googled the pills and found out a side effect is partial paralysis! My baby was paralyzed from the waist down because of this lazy, horrible disgusting excuse of a hospital. I plan to file charges for their gross neglect.
