Dr. Huff has cared for my fur baby Zeus for close to 4 years. He saved him from Addison's disease and gave him 2 extra years of life. When it was time for Zeus to go, him and his staff were caring, answered my constant questions, and comforted me. We drove all the way from Lehi to have him take care of Zeus. I highly recommend Dr. Huff as a vet. He is one of the best!
I went there a few years ago when my two cats started getting abscesses. The first cat got one on it's neck, so I popped it myself and cleaned and drained it. It was huge and I figured if it didn't go away, I would take him in. It did require a bit more care, but it went away. Then my other cat got an abscess in his foot. I thought, geez! So I did the same thing. It came back. I popped it again and he seemed to be feverish. I really hate spending money -- almost as much as I love my animals. So I took him in. The people there seemed really nice. I don't have much to say on the intake procedure. The vet took a look at him and said he'd fix him up. Then I went in to work. Out of his own initiative, and out of his own pocket ( I don't know how much it cost to test for it, but the vet was concerned and had a hunch and didn't charge us for it.) he tested my cat for kitty leukemia. The vet did all of the work on the cat's foot. Really good work too. The puss was in between his toes and was probably really hard to drain etc. Anyway, my cat tested positive for leukemia. The vet was super amazing about it. He handled it perfectly, and professionally. He said what it was, how it was he might've gotten it etc and you could tell he cared and he laid out all of the options we could take. He said in no uncertain terms that the cat wouldn't get better, then looked at my bleary eyes and said there are some very expensive treatments that could keep the cat alive. I chose to put him down. The bill for his foot was about 240$ ( I felt this was fair -- and wasn't a surprise). And the bill to put Desmond to sleep was about 120$ ish -- though it was a while ago, and I was emotionally distressed. That was with them disposing of his body. The vet WAIVED the 240$ bill. And I knew that he could have charged us a lot more for testing and so on. I could have walked out of there paying 400$ + Never once did I feel the vet cared an ounce more. Coming out of the office after the cat died, the staff at the front was incredibly courteous and caring. I am going to spay my dog there soon. I made up my mind never to go to another vet after this after going to a few other awful ones. I think it is just important to understand how much you are going to pay etc etc
I'd like to say thank you to the "Dr." For doing absolutely nothing to help my dog. He just pressed on his stomach to make it sound like he was doing something. I had to put my dog down because he pressed so hard on his stomach that it punctured his pancreas. Infecting all of his organs.. thanks again doc DON'T COME HERE!
I would not recommend this clinic nor will I be retuning to this facility for any future pet care needs. I had called to set an appointment to get my puppy neutered, and my first encounter over the phone wasn't very pleasant. The lady who set the appointment seemed like she just wanted to hurry and get off the phone and really didn’t even want to even be on the phone in the first place. I just kinda brushed it off thinking it's the end of the day and she probably just want's to go home because she tired. The morning I brought my puppy in, the ladies behind the desk seemed a little moody and not quite wanting to be there. The younger girl, however, that took us back to the patient room was total opposite of the other ladies and was very welcoming, warm, happy and super sweet! I had some questions about my pet insurance that the younger lady didn't know the answers to, so she had gone out to ask the two older ladies and they had no idea either about weather or not certain procedures would be covered or not and keep telling me that I had to pay out of pocket and then go to the place that provided the insurance and be reimbursed. I informed them that that just didn't seem right, so I called the insurance company (which I felt they probably should have done just out of courtesy for the client) and found out that in fact that was not the way the insurance worked. When the doctor come in he looked over my puppy, asked a few question and said I could come back between 3 and 4 and pick him up. When I came back, the lady behind the desk charged me for the services and the other lady brought out my puppy and said we were good to go. I walked out to my truck thinking there would be some after care instructions or notes or ANYTHING and there was nothing but a receipt. I had go back in and ask all the questions about after care. Also, I had bathed my puppy before I took him in so he smelled very clean and when I picked him up he smelled like he had just been bathed in urine. What made the stench even worse was that I was told not to bathe him for two weeks (after I asked about the bathing of course). I chose this clinic because it was closes to me. I am willing to drive a few extra miles in either direction to seek out a better establishment with a friendly and informative staff for our future pet care needs.
Seriously, every time either my wife or I have called they are so rude on the phone. I called asking about medication for our dog recently, to which the lady responded, "well you'll have to bring him in first so we can look at him, you can't have him on medication all the time." I've actually never been to the clinic so maybe they are a little nicer there in person. I've just never given them the chance because they are so rude over the phone. I'll officially never visit nor call again.
