This very personable and nice vet's office saw me promptly when I had an urgent care concern for my dog. Unfortunately, the diagnosis was a grave one. Nevertheless, the doc gave it to me straight and provided various treatment options. I selected an intermediate treatment option that required sending some tissue samples to a lab for confirmation. During that time, I was provided a RX for an antibiotic in hopes that the tissue samples would come back with something less than what we feared and dreaded. I was somewhat upset about the diagnosis, and didn't notice that I was provided a 2-week prescription for something that would be wholly unnecessary if the tissue samples came back positive for cancer, which was suspected. I paid for 2 weeks when I only needed a few days worth. Had I not been upset, I probably would have noticed this, but oh well, my bad, right? Then, when our fears were confirmed, we were provided two prescriptions for palliative care. I was happy to buy them. Then the doc came out and recommended a $45 bottle of fish oil. When I asked him what purpose it would serve, he said, "It will make him more comfortable" and "my colleague just went to a conference on this." I felt like I was being had, so I declined. Again, I must say that I felt the care was first rate. I just thought that I was getting milked a bit.
