Dr. Robertson was caring, compassionate & knowledgeable. The techs were friendly, fast, and thorough. They are there when no one else is, and the prices were reasonable & well worth saving my best friend. Got my Diesel Pup fixed up, medicated and on his way back to being his happy self!
We had a GSD in active bloat (GVD) we took to the emergency clinic today. We called in advance to let them know we were on our way, as we know that if treated early, it usually has an excellent prognosis, if you wait to long, it is almost always fatal. We arrived and they didn't seem to understand why this was an emergency. They finally got around to taking the dog back (who was actively retching white foam all over their floor). They eventually x-rayed him, said it was not in torsion and was going to put a tube down his throat in 45 minutes, as they were busy. 45 minutes later, the vet came out and informed us we needed to drive 2 hours to vegas because they were TOO BUSY. at this point, we had been there almost 2 hours. She was frantic, there were no vets to call and they couldn't handle an emergency. When we got to Vegas they confirmed with her x-rays that he was in torsion and needed emergency surgery. This clinic is not capable of handling an emergency AT ALL. They need to be shut down and we need a real emergency vet in the area. This care in inexcusable. If you have a pet emergency got to the vegas hospital on Tropicana. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC.
Our dog was brought to Southwest Animal Emergency Hospital due to dehydration (diagnosed as heat stroke). They did not give our dog any fluids internally (including IV fluids) and only sprayed her with water to cool her temperature externally. Our dog was put in a crate and was in Dr. Rose's care for 3 hours and he never gave her water to drink. She died because of his negligence. Dr. Rose failed the ethical responsibility in an emergency to provide essential service to an animal to save the animal's life. Consultation was unprofessional, non-compassionate, and offensive. Dr. Rose used unprovoked profanity towards us when we questioned him. Do not take your pets to this hospital! The doctors are unethical and non-compassionate.
Nearly all vets in So Utah rely on the Animal Emergency Clinic in St. George to provide care for their patients between 5 pm and 8 pm. 24-7, when their offices are usually closed. It's very expensive to have a pet treated there, but it takes the burden off the regular vets with busy practices and provides care when they can't.
Great staff, when the reg. vet is closed its good to know there is still a place I can take my pets in case of an emergency!
