It pays to go to a business that doesn't look and act overly fancy. If you want to pay double or quadruple then choose a super fancy vet office. For a fancy edifice with super high prices- there is an incredibly beautiful vet office on 90th South and 15th West with an equally incredible website and super sounding discount offers. Jordan River Animal Hospital is offering 45% off dentals and $50 off new patients. The receptionist needed all contact information before quoting the estimate. After getting name, addy, phone #, dog name and age,etc she was able to give the quote. With all discounts applied and my name in her system she quoted a price double that of Animal Crackers. With all discounts applied I was quoted $62.20 for the initial exam and $332.85 for the dental plus extras. $400+ to do a dental on a 2 year small dog at Jordan River AFTER a 45% discount and $50 off coupon. Nice building and website = more overhead costs= higher cost of services. But double or quadruple there competitors, really? And that after a half off discount. I doubt that they actually charge $800 for a dental on a smaller younger dog. YIKES, Jordan River, I am appalled. Save yourself the expense... go to Animal Crackers.

I recently found out that Dr Brent Palfreyman will be retiring soon. I have been taking my dogs to Dr Palfreyman since he first opened his practice in West Jordan in the building on 7800 S east of Redwood Road. My pets have always received excellent care. Fourteen years ago our cocker spaniel Spike became very ill. We rush him to the clinic and they got him right in and started running tests. When we went to see him the next day he was doing better and we took him out for a walk and spent some time with him. Unfortunatley his liver was failing and we made the decision on the third day to end his suffering. I will never forget the concern and kindness the entire staff showed us that day. Sitting here telling this story has brought tears to my eyes. Then 2 day later we received a sympathy card that was signed by the entire staff. I want to thank all of them for being the very best veterinary clinic ever. We have met one of the new doctors and she was awesome. Keep up the great work.

I have taken many of my pets here over the years. I have experienced many things from having my dog of 18 years put down to diabetic cats and now a dog with a blood disorder. They never did any outlandish tests if they felt they didn't need to but also sent me to an advanced medical care clinic since my dog had such a severe sickness. I appreciate their integrity, kindness and compassion. I will continue to take my pets to Animal Crackers.
