Loved getting our awesome dog, Brewster, here! The staff was great, helpful, supportive, and very good with their animals. They really care and know so much about them. We were just going to see what dogs they had available, potentially with the thought of adopting one. We found one we wanted to get to know, played with him in their yard for a while, learned his tricks, mannerisms and just fell in love. We had hoped to take him home that day or the next day, but they wanted a vet to check him out because there was an unusual spot on his belly that they had found earlier that day. While we were a little sad not to bring him home right away, it was great to know how much they really cared about him and wanted to make sure Brewster was ok. It took a few days to get him checked, but four days later, we took him home and he is all good. Brewster seems happy in his new home with us as are we with him. I definitely recommend going here to find a dog, cat, rabbit, chinchilla, or some other animal to adopt. Those animals have some great and caring people to look after them.

When I tell you this is the greatest shelter to go to find your newest family member, I mean it! The staff is super friendly and helped me find a dog that completes me. I got my cat here. The staff is friendly and the process went smoothly. They are just super busy and there was a long wait, but it was all worth it. They were very helpful and knowledgeable.

The shelter staff are really enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the animals under their care. They were able to find me the right match for a pet -- a perfect lil dog that I adore. The shelter is very clean and the animals are well cared for and loved. I highly recommend a vist to AWL if you are looking for a forever friend.
