I've been coming to Hayfield for almost 4 years now and I had no complaints up until recently. The service at the front desk has gone down hill. The only people we have had nothing but good experiences from are Dr. Embry, Dr. Bowling, Nadiyah, Megan, Victoria and Annie. I have literally heard the red-headed vet tech/counter assistant Leigh-Ann talking about us and our pet negatively in the hallway to other vet techs while we were in exam room 1. They made us wait for over 2 hours to be seen and when I confronted Leigh-Ann about it she apologized. I was still upset but not ready to find a new care provider just yet. This am, my boyfriend went in to pick up our dogs rediculously expensive rimadyl (at over $3/pill) and asked the same girl, Leigh-Ann to check the price as he was sticker shocked. She was training someone new and she looked over at the new person, rolled her eyes and began giving my boyfriend an attitude and guilt trip for asking the price. I love Dr. Embry, she has been kind and caring to our pets for years and we have no complaints about her specifically. We have had other doctors at this practice, more specifically the younger doctors; upsell us packages and tests and all kinds of stuff we didn't need. We may be looking into other options. To pay $64.00 for an office visit and get such awful service is not going to work for us.

So far I've had a great experience with Hayfield. They are courteous, give great attention to my dog's needs, and are very professional. I'd recommend them to any pet owner.

I moved to the area in 2010 with my dog, Bailey. We became patients of Hayfield Animal Hospital at the recommendation of a friend after Bailey was injured at daycare. We are lucky to call Dr. Bowling our vet. She’s amazing, she has done everything possible to make sure that my fur baby is well cared for and I couldn’t be happier. We have gotten to know Dr. Bowling well over the past three years and have kept her very busy. If it hasn’t been for our yearly check-ups/ vaccinations, then crazy Bailey has managed to visit her for intestinal distress (“leave-it” is not her favorite word). When Bailey needed an eye surgeon for her disticia, Dr. Bowling recommended the best in the state. Eight weeks after surgery Bailey yet again managed to find herself in Dr. Bowling’s exam room, this time, she poked her newly recovering eyelids with a fence! Each and every time we have visited her office she has been amazing and understanding. As Bailey has grown out of puppyhood, Dr. Bowling has given me the knowledge that I need to become the pet parent Bailey deserves. Thank you Dr. Bowling, for all you do!

A great place, with caring staff and vets. Long hours for working schedules. We are lucky to have them in the DC Metro Area.

I have two senior dogs and I have had very good experiences with Hayfield Animal Hospital. The staff and dr's are very friendly, helpful, etc. Saturday morning was very busy, and all parts of the process were slow (waiting to see the vet, waiting to pay and leave, etc). Visits during other times have been fine. Pros: Excellent service. Drs are very knowledgeable. When visiting with the pet owner they are never hurried, and take time to explain everything. Cons: Expensive. Bottom line: I trust these Dr's with my pets, and will continue to use them. But it's pricey.
