Yes, they know what they're doing and they do a pretty good job of it, but this place is seriously overpriced. We recently took a cat there to have an abscess drained and sutured and the final bill was $420. Apparently it costs $55 to shake hands with a doctor, $40 to wash a wound, and $80 to tie about four stitches. Then there's all the various medications (they never shy away from giving antibiotics) and the bill quickly mounts. In my estimation, you could probably get just as good of care somewhere far cheaper.

We took our dog in for routine vaccines and lyme/erlichia/heartworm test. The vet tech took our dog out of the exam room to the back to be weighed and have his temperature taken and blood drawn. I asked if I could go along and was told no. 10 minutes later she brought him back and announced that he had tried to bite her when she was attempting to PUT A MUZZLE on him. Our dog is very gentle and only weights 25 lbs. She insisted that I put the muzzle on him before he could be examined. In the end, Dr. Fietz was great and and told us they would forgo the muzzle and the back room in the future. The whole experience was incredibly unnecessarily stressful for us and for our dog. The policy of doing procedures on pets in a back room away from their owners and the use of muzzles is indicative that pets are not treated gently here.
