Extremely disappointed with my short lived, somewhat cohered, experience with Affiliated Animal Care. I brought my 4yr. old American Eskimo in to be treated for continued disorientation after an episodic seizure, and the receptionist had me fill out paper work while holding my still tensing dog in my arm. Approximately 25-35 minutes after arriving, I was finally able to visit with a nurse... in the "E.R.". I explained the situation to her, she immediately took my dog to the back to be "evaluated", then I waited for another 20 minutes. Eventually the Dr. arrived and asked me to advise her of the entire situation again. The Dr. promptly advised me that my dog be admitted overnight, due to a slight increase in body temperature, and to have several tests ran. She would work out an estimate for me at the front desk. 20 minutes later I'm looking at an estimate ranging from $480 (down payment due today) -- $650. The sticker shock is of course justified, if it means the well-being of this dog, however the level of customer service at Aff. Animal Care is virtually nonexistent. I called about 6 hours later, to check on my dog's condition. Receptionist took my information and said she would return with information shortly. Two hours later I called back to find out anything about my dog. The receptionist apparently forgot to return the information to me that, "my dog is doing fine", with no other specifics. I do not plan on ever using this clinic again.
We took our old wrinkle-dog (Sharpee) there because she was going blind. At eleven years old, we didnt' think any cost effective option would be available but a good referral sent us there anyway. The place is clean, they have multiple specialties on site (which was great because it turned out our dog has a skin condition) and our old dog is seeing and feeling better from just antibiotics, food changes and eye drops! No surgery! The cost was about the same as our regular vet. Very happy!
I recently brought my dog there due to pain/discomfront in her hind quarters. After reviewing x-rays and examining, the vet concluded the pain was from her back probably due to over exertion. We received a couple of meds and we were on on way. The condition worsened over the next day and half until we brought he to a different vet for a second opion. It turns out she had a sore on her tail, near her tailbone that had become infected. Well this vet has put my dog on the proper treatments and she has responded extremely well in less that a day. Had the original vet did her job and conducted a proper exam it would have saved my dog a couple of days pain and saved my the cost of the second vet visit. I'm not sure what Cracker Jack box she got her licenses from. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER bring you pet to this place if you are expecting an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.
I went here after hours to the emergency center for an allergic reaction in my dog, I waited 45 min!!!!!! before ANYONE came to get the dog! Then they told me it was MY FAULT that I DID THIS to my dog??!! (my dog had a vaccination earlyer that day and the reaction was from that NOT FROM ME) Idiots. The only person that was half way decent to me was the "nurse" if thats what they call those people. The doctor insulted and made fun of me in front of the other customers saying that I had my dog was having the allergic reaction because of me...uh, your experience should tell you that since the only thing different about my dogs routine was the vaccine then thats probably what made her ill. And was far as Im concerned I pay you to fix it, not to judge me. THIS PLACE SUCKS. I love animals and people who are passionate about them and their well being, NOT THE CHECK THEY GET FROM IT! Horrible service and staff.
The Doctor was Extremely nice and made us feel very comfortable and confident that she knew exactly what was wrong with our dogs eye which was great except for when we checked out with the receptionist. We were thinking our bill would be between 100-200$ for the "surgery" that was recommended for him it was $700. When we asked for the option of monthly payments because we Want to fix his eye she had such an attitude and made us feel like $700 was nothing and were pathetic if we couldn't pay that right away. She was rude from the moment we walked in and just progressed. She Didn't make me feel comfortable and made me have an ichy feeling for the office as a whole. But she was the only rude one there everyone else was great.
