Chesapeake Animal Hospital has been caring for our pets for over 15 years. The Doctors and Staff have all been extremely knowledgeable and caring. We have also utilized the boarding and grooming options. There are no doubts that our 4-legged babies are being well taken of. Highly recommended!

Chesapeake Animal Hospital put my cat to sleep last year using a one-part system, versus a two-part system that uses a sedative before adding the euthanasia (so my cat appeared to suffer during the process). When I was too upset to pay the bill for a couple of months, they charged me a small amount in "mailing fees". When I was paying the bill, I asked if they could eliminate the mailing fees, considering how many thousands of dollars I had spent on the deceased pet, and I had no history of being late in my payments. The owner insultingly met me halfway to save me a few dollars (and I mean very few). I accepted it, and it was now water under the bridge. Yesterday, during my two surviving pets' annual exams, the vet chastised me for posting my complaint on Facebook. He instructed me to call the office the next time I had a complaint. I advised him that I did indeed call the office, and he replied, "Well ... You need to talk to me, even though I have no power to change the owner's decisions." I went further to testify that when I took over my mom's financial affairs, she was late on multiple bills. Each and every entity reversed the late fee. The vet in question practically called me a liar, when he stated, "I have to disagree ... We deal with credit card companies all the time." Needless to say, we're changing vets. We should have made this decision immediately following the euthanasia debacle.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve taken all of my dogs to Dr. Brooks, Dr. Kim and the great staff of Chesapeake Animal Hospital. Whether it be for routine check-ups, surgeries or time of sadness, I have found them to always be compassionate towards the patients and owners. I can’t imagine taking my four legged children anywhere else. The love and respect that is show is what you would receive from a dear family member…and I am thankful to be part of theirs. I know my dogs are receiving the best care available. Thank you Dr. Brooks and Dr. Kim for always being there for our family and taking such good care of our four legged babies. You guys are the BEST!

I've taken my cats here several times for small problems, urinary issues and vaccinations. I took both of them in last week to get their annual vaccines and physical exams and told the tech. that I had an upcoming vacation and that I would be boarding them and to give them any vaccines that she advised. When I asked her several times if it was recommended that they receive the feline leukemia vaccine, she said she would advise against it since I trusted her opinion as a professional, I did not get that particular vaccine. Low and behold, the most cost efficient boarder I could find requires that vaccine. I called Chesapeake Animal Hospital to make an appointment for the leukemia vaccine and I told them I was a tad discouraged that I had to pay another office visit when it was recommended that I didn't need the vaccine. I asked the office visit could be waived since my 2 cats were seen just last week and they said no. The technician then got on the phone and yelled at me. I told her that she was extremely rude and that was no way to speak to a customer. I immediately hung up and called another vet's office, I explained my situation and they waived the office fee for me... even though they didn't do anything wrong. It really pays to listen to a customers needs and genuinely care about them and their pets. So if you'd like to get belittled over the phone by a measly veterinarian technician and pay more for services that aren't recommended, I'd totally advise you to go to this place.
