We highly recommend Pender Obedience courses with Michelle Jackson. We have an extremely hyper 11month old intact Doberman Pincher. We completed the Puppy Kindergarten, Intermediate, Advanced Obedience classes and recently graduated the AKC CGC course thanks to her training. Michelle trains with positive reinforcement and has helped us immensely redirecting Blitz's energy.

My family and I have been going to Pender for years. They have a huge facility that is able to cater to everyone's needs and they operate 24/7, which is very nice in a very busy environment like the DC area :) Some people dont write the nicest thing about Pender, and I can understand because have a pet is a very emotional thing. However, having taken care of 3 dogs over the last 20 years, we have always used Pender and have been very happy with their services.

I have brought my cat (male Siberian) here several times to get a shave down in which they have to put him under while the procedure happens. Every time I have had my cat shaved it has been an outstanding experience; I am always able to pick up my cat the same day. The staff and Sharron (the person in charge of animal shave downs) has always been very friendly and helpful. I would recommend Pender to anyone for any number of pet needs.

I just finished a Basic Obedience class at Pender with Trainer Michelle Jackson. The course was great. It was basic and all my dog could handle at this point. Instructions were clear and the follow-up each week was great. We graduated! I am planning on taking the Intermediate course that Starts May 31st. Loved it!

I have used Pender for the last 20 years for cats and now a dog. Dr Voell is my primary vet and he is just wonderful. He has always been available for calls and so helpful at appointments. I have also taken classes with Michelle Jackson for puppy obedience and CGC (canine good citizen). She is extremely thorough and great at working with various personalities of dogs AND their owners. My dog took the therapy dog test yesterday and passed with ease due to the invaluable lessons we learned in Michelle's CGC class.
