I should've listened to the reviews. I called in advance to see if I could pick up my dogs prescription and I was told yes they could transfer her records. When I arrived there I was told no I could not have her prescription filled because even though she is a Banfield patient because she has not been seen at this one they could not fill her prescription. I do not have this problem with any other locations. WHAT A JOKE!

This location is really convenient for me. But every other aspect of my visit was bad. I went on Sunday in person to inquire about an appointment for thyroid blood work. No appointment necessary I was told. So today we go and have the test. I am told that the test will take 15 or more minutes to yield results. We take the opportunity to go shopping and return in 45 minutes. I am once again greeted warmly and give the results which are the same as the prior two years so the medicine will remain the same. Here is where we go off the rails. When I request the medicine I am offered two months. This seems a little soon and unnecessarily costly to me to do the test so soon. They agree and we agree on a 4 to 6 months supply. They just need to check with the vet on whether we can do 6 months. Now I am told the vet won't be comfortable without doing a complete physical. There was some promise that could be scheduled soon but at this point I had my grocery's in a hot car and I was feeling extremely jerked around. I should have believed the reviews when I read them this morning. Then the Office Manager from Banfield calls me at home. I assumed to apologize for my treatment and try to lure me back. Not so much. She spoke with my wife and apparently thinks we should pay for the test or she is going to turn it over to a collection agency. Of course if they had not done the "bait and switch" I would not have done the test in the first place. Or I would have scheduled and appointment. After all they did have prior notice that I would like to have the procedure done. I am sure she can quote some rules and regs to me. But she is not providing what I wanted most - good medical care for my best friend "cookie". I have more time than money so I can see small claims court in my future. I want this to be out there as a warning to others. Is this the kind of place you want to trust with your pet care?

I actually had a really good experience with Banfield. I took my cat in after another vet failed twice to diagnose the UTI. It was pricey but they got her taken care of immediately and were very thorough and helpful. They even called the next day to check in on her.

I've taken my dog there for years. They don't care at all about your animal, just your money. I spent over $300 getting my dogs teeth cleaned and was very unhappy with the subpar cleaning. My dog is very little and doesn't take shots well so I liked to give them in stages, which they allow BUT you have to pay a $70 office visit every time your dog gets a shot. They didn't care at all about my dog's well being and wanted to give him anywhere from 3-5 shots every time (even 2 at a time makes him very sick with nausea and vomiting).

Should've learned from the poster's below and from my previous visit to a banfield hospital in 2001 in alex,va . Yes they do pressure you to get things you dont need and even if you fill out the contact info so they may reach you they seem ignorant and call you home # or other secondary number instead. Do yourself a favor and just go elsewhere. The last vist my 6 month old dog went in for for left him with a sac of puss on his chest and they had the balls to say my dog needs traing and needs to be neutured. shame on this hospital!
