They charged me 49.00 for a exam fee when they only thing that they did was weigh my dog. I asked why is am getting charged for something they didn't do and they told me they have to charge me for it anyway every time any dog comes. The vet did not even touch my dog or nothing. I got robbed of 49.00. Also they charged 42.00 for a ear cleaning which the vet did not even do. I will not taking my pet their anymore after this. I refuse to pay for services that are not done
My dogs have all been treated at Ferry Farm. I had 2 dogs that had life saving surgeries there. Everything was done with great care and competency. I can't say enough about the doctors and staff. My dogs are happy and healthy since their treatments. I would not go elsewhere.
This is the second veterinary clinic I've visited for an annual check-up for my dog since moving to Virginia in 2011. I came to Ferry Farm Animal Clinic on the recommendation of a clinic in another area that was recommended by 'whippet people', but a little bit too far of a drive. I had a great weekday evening visit to Ferry Farm. First, it's a stand alone building so there's lots of parking space. There's a small 'yard' of grass in front of some of the parking so if you need a leashed potty time before going in, there's space for it. When you walk in, the waiting area is spacious and consists of two alcoves, which I imagine makes it easier to wait on a busier day. The clinic decor is somewhat dated, but very clean and comfortable I was greeted warmly by the office staff, assisted with the new client paperwork, and taken to the exam room in a timely manner. The assistants and vet techs were all very friendly and really helped to put my dog at ease. We never waited more than a minute or two alone in the exam room. Dr. Foster was great! She answered all of my questions about heartworm preventatives, joint supplements, and immunizations and let my dog try some joint supplements I asked about before selling them to me to make sure she'd eat them. There were no sales pitches or sticking to a brand, just good information. It was a relief to be somewhere with sight hound experience. We had to wait in a little bit (maybe 5 minutes) of a line to check out, but there was plenty of space and I've waited in longer lines after a dental cleaning. The entrance and exit are through doors on different sides of the clinic so you don't have to walk through a room full of nervous animals on the way out. The pricing is on par for what I've seen in the area for an annual exam, a vaccination, heartworm test, heartworm meds, and joint supplements. While my dog wasn't initially relaxed, with all the kindness she was shown she had stopped shaking by the end of our visit. This never even happened at our regular vet in California. After last year's experience at the vet-to-remain-nameless, I was very pleased with my appointment at Ferry Farm Animal Clinic and would recommend it to anyone.
WOW! I've been taking my dog here for years, and had to take my dog in this morning because he is very sick. I left my dog in the car to go fill out any necessary and the lady at the counter was very annoyed that I brought him in, as a matter of fact she started throwing paper work around -- grunting and breathing heavy. I could say some horrible things about her and that facility but why bother. If you you want to take a member of your family somewhere that doesn't CARE and put up with an obnoxious staff that has an inability to control their behavior this a great place.
I use to go here to have my dogs checked for various illnesses. They did a fine job as vets but the main doctor lady accused me of wanting to sleep with her and having it on voice recording. Well that's a hard to believe considering NOTHING provoked this conversation and I've been known to say anything to enemies to get them to go away. So even if she did have a recording it's probably edited, thus fake.
