After having many different vets in the Northern Virginia area in the past 16 years, this is by far, the BEST all around animal hospital I have ever been to. We are, personally, treated with respect, friendly attitudes and concern for our own feelings. And that's just us! Our pets, are loved and cared for and treated so outstandingly, you would think they belong to the people that work there!! The compassion and thoughtfulness is without measure. I can honestly say that I will never choose an alternative Veterinary practice to care for our four-legged children. St. Francis Animal Hospital in Stafford is just, in a word, WONDERFUL. We have been there for the excitement of a new puppy and also the death of our oldest dog, and everything in between. Their pricing is very competitive and they always strive to offer incentives with specials and coupons. I can safely say that we and our dogs have never been treated better. A special Thank you to Dr. Davis and Katie, who helped us through the loss of our 14 year old chihuahua, and to all the other Doctors and members of Staff that continue to provide such wonderful and loving care to our dogs. We couldn't speak more highly of them.

If you want your pet DEAD...this is your place! After being treated for years of so called "Wellness Exams"...my 8yr old German Shepherd was given a "clean bill of health". He is now DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! These "self proclaimed DOCTORS" must have graduated from some online course. My GSD had 2 wellness exams within a month...."he's healthy as a horse" they proclaimed after the usual "you need pet insurance...or he needs a dental plan" sales pitch. I have never seen the same vet twice (they no doubt quit after learning that "greed over care" is the standard operating procedure here...STAY AWAY...AND DON'T WALK, RUN FROM THESE GREEDY, NON-CARING SALESMEN/SALESWOMEN. I plan on hiring a Animal Rights Lawyer, and hopefully no one else will need to suffer the loss that my family is now going through.

A few months ago, my cat Otis began losing weight in spite of eating everything in sight. His coat became matted and it was obvious something was wrong. I took Otis to St. Francis and, after some tests, they discovered he had a thyroid problem. He was given medication to take daily but the medication had no effect. He was steadily losing weight. Dr. McAuliff talked to me about thyroid surgery. I was very concerned especially with Otis being at least 10 years old. Dr. McAuliff explained that he used laser in performing the surgery so there would be minimal trauma, if any at all. The day of surgery went well. I brought Otis home the next day. Thinking he would need his rest, I fixed a place for him to rest and recuperate. I put up a small gate to keep my new puppy away from Otis. As soon as I turned my back, Otis jumped the gate! You would not know he had had surgery the day before. Two weeks later, Otis and returned to St. Francis for a follow-up appointment. His coat was already looking better and he had gained weight! Almost two pounds in two weeks! Otis continues to improve each day. I am very thankful for the doctors and the staff at St. Francis. As far as I am concerned, they saved Otis's life!

Without the expert knowledge and professionalism of Dr. McAuliff and his staff, our 14 year old lab mix would not be sitting by our side today. One night our Harley abruptly fell and then just went to his bed to lay the rest of the evening. I had figured his hips had given out due to many vets just telling me he had arthritis and was old, so I let him sleep. When I awoke the next morning he couldn't raise his head or use his back legs. He looked in severe pain and his breathing was labored. In a panic I called St. Francis to get him in as soon as possible. We were not even patients of St. Francis and instead of just saying he is old or it is his time to go, Dr. McAuliff saw Harley first thing in the morning and thorough testing found a large mass on Harley's spleen. After comforting our dog's pain, we were explained our options and elected to try surgery to give Harley a fighting chance. The surgery was a success and Harley even walked out to greet us! We couldn't be more pleased with the services at St. Francis. Dr. McAuliff and staff were very straight forward with our options and took extremely good care of our fur-baby. We definitely have become regular patients.

St Francis Animal Hospital is the BEST. I have two large dogs, one of which is still a puppy. My puppy has, on more than one occasion, caused me to call St. Francis in a panic. They have always made time for me. Dr. McAuliff and his staff of well-trained and customer-service savvy veterinarians are top-notch--working tirelessly when emergencies happen. The front desk staff are always efficient and courteous. They always keep me up-to-date on what shots my dogs need so that I don't have to count days, weeks, or months until required immunizations are given. I would never, after my experiences at St. Francis, trust my dogs with another vet. I wish I could give them ten stars!
