I would suggest a different vet office. Though they do the basics I needed them to do (rabies basic vax neuter) the customer service is just awful. The receptionists/vet assistants are very rude and patronizing. Then the vet wow, speaks to you and your animal like you are a baby...using baby talk?? Its so strange. I was just really surprised how rude the front desk people were. If you didn't know exactly how their office worked you were a complete idiot.

I have been to other vets at times (I have worked with rescues and had to use their vets for their animals) but I have used Crater Rd for my pets for 20 years and will continue to do so. I haven't had to weigh my own animals. The scale is in the lobby, but who cares? They help stray or abused animals also. This vet is friendly, caring, and affordable.

I have lived here all my life and used many vets in our area in my attempt to help animals in different districts. Crater Road veterinary hospital has never let me down. I've taken my pets consistently to this hospital for 15 + years. What I appreciate most about them is that they work with their local animal shelter.

Just moved here and took my two dogs to this vet clinic last week. My experience at the clinic was nothing to write home about. They weren't rude but not overly friendly here either. They do not do the things that other vet clinics do. They make you weigh your own pets. They do not put your dogs rabies tag on and take the old one off. The vet tech gives your dog shots and checks for heartworm preventative in back (away from viewing). In all my other experiences a vet at least comes in and checks the animal if not doing the shots themselves. My pet never even saw a vet during this exam. We are a military family so I have had lots of experiences with clinics all over the country. The most annoying thing about this clinic is that they won't communicate with pet pharmacies over the phone. I received a call from the online pet pharmacy saying that they were unable to send out my requested heartworm preventative because the vet clinic never returned communication with them over the several day period they tried to do so. I called the vet clinic and was told that I would have to come in and get a script and send to company myself. It would have been nice for the vet clinic to post this information in their clinic so I could have picked up script then and there. They do not do communication with online pet pharmacies over the phone. Why not? Is it because you don't want to make this convenient because you know they (1800petmeds and petcarerx) sell the same products for cheaper? This is just another thing this clinic doesn't do that all other clinics do. Guess what . . . . I won't be coming back. One of my husband's co-workers asked me for a vet recommendation this morning and I told him I would not recommend this clinic.

I have also been going to this veterinary hospital for years and they have always done a great job. They are very friendly and very helpful and gentle to my pets. They have been in business for as long as I can remember. I would recommend to all my friends.
