My pups Cnha & Jax just loves Allied, Cnha has been going since she was 5 weeks old. One of the greatest things is if you have to go out of town and can't find a dog sitter. They also have boarding for your Dogs & Cats. So they will get 10 paws from the Woody Pack. :)
My family has taken our dogs here for as long as I can recall. They are friendly and I have never had a issue with them. Have use them for about 20 years now.
The price for dog heartworm med at our previous vet is $35 for 6 months. Allied wants $82 for 6 months(different brand). WOW
I absolutely love Allied, the doctors and staff are extremely good at what they do. Not only have they provided excellent treatment for my animals they are also very loving and caring. I first went to Allied when my American Bulldog was diagnosed with Lymphoma, they could not have been more wonderful in assisting me in trying to save him from his disease. Even at the end when he could not be saved they were so thoughtful and considerate in every way. I have been taking my other dog to them since then, last year she was diagnosed with Diabetes and lost her eye sight, they have helped me with her insulin injections, day care, boarding...you name it they are always there for me and for her. From the girls at the front desk to the doctors I can't say enough good things about them. The best part is my dog loves going! I personally wouldn't go anywhere else.
I found Allied through a series of searches on the web and thought I would try them for boarding my two small dogs. When I dropped my dogs off everything was fine and then when I was on the road out of state I get a phone call saying my dogs have fleas. Okay let me tell you, my dogs hardly spend anytime outside at all, they are lazy, they don't hang out with other dogs and I bathe them regularly. There weren't any fleas when I dropped them off, I let them know this fact and was told that they don't have fleas at there facility, oh and that they were crawling with fleas. I was a little upset by this statement, but what could I do, I was already 1 hour away and going. I asked what they wanted to do and I was informed that they would have to have flea treatment, I said that was fine even though they didn't arrive there with fleas. The flea medicine they charged me for was 100$, the boarding was over 200$, and every dog that gets boarded is required to get a kennel cough treatment, 40-50$. Yeah for just four days of boarding and they would always ad weird stuff on. Like heart worm pills, but only give you 2 pills and charge you 40$ for them, or tell me they had fleas again and charge me for that. But the kicker was when I left my dogs there for a week, it cost around 700$, they needed all their shots and when I picked them up they had lost weight. My oldest dog was fine for a day and the next thing you know she starts coughing, loud honking coughs. I was freaked out, I called them and told them my dog was ill, I was told that she is probably got a bit of tickle in her throat, yes a tickle in her throat. My dog was coughing so bad she started to throw up, then she was throwing up a little blood. I called them back, I was told to hold a minute, then I was told I would be called back. Okay let me try to explain how loud and horrible my dog sounded, it sounded like a loud honking goose that was choking itself, it was so loud when I called my mom to she if she could help, she could hear my dog over the phone like they were in the room. My mom suggested it might be kennel cough, judging by the sound of the cough, and i should take my dog to the vet immediately. As I was rushing my dog down three flights of stairs, Allied calls me back, it has been about an hour since the last time that I called them. I let them know that I was taking my dog to another vet and wouldn't be needing their services at the moment, but thanks for all the wonderful help. The other vet, who was great by the way, told me even though they received the kennel cough vaccine, it is only about 30% effective. Also since my dog is older she would be more vulnerable to the disease anyway. He then let me know that my dog most likely had kennel cough, based on her recent boarding experience. My puppy had to get put on a couple medicines and was sick for like 2 weeks. I called Allied to tell them that they have a possible kennel cough problem at their facility and was told that there was no way that my dog got kennel cough from them. Even though that was the only place my dog had been for a week and came in to contact with other dogs. I just wanted to let them know so someone else didn't have to go through the same thing and they acted so bleh about, like it was my fault my dog got sick. Okay I will say its my fault because I put them in there, but Allied was supposed to be a clean and well maintained establishment. Kennel cough is caused by a bacteria that is spread from an infected dog or infected surfaces. So they either boarded a dog who had it and didn't clean the kennel after them or they are just a dirty establishment that doesn't sanitize the areas they keep the dogs. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a vet and I will never take another animal there. Oh and the lady vet is a total butthead, she was so rude any time I spoke with her, like she couldn't be bothered by the likes of me.
