I have taken my Doberman, Diesel to veterinary dermatology of Richmond since April 2012. Our first visit we could not afford having the intradermal skin test done and Diesel was only experiencing hair loss. In February 2013 we decided to have the test done since Diesel had become itchy and was having reactions to shampoos. Diesel was put on immunotherapy injections, Cephalexin, Ketoconazole and ear medications. We started giving Diesel his immunotherapy and he had a reaction (which the cause is unknown; injections vs topical flea & tick preventions vs duck pill pockets) which none of this is the fault of anyone. Why I am giving veterinary dermatology a VERY poor review is because of the staff’s poor customer service. From what I am told (By the receptionist; Amy) Dr. Williamson does not have the time to call me because she is the only Doctor that works here. Being a customer this makes me feel like my Pet is not important and neither is my money. I have had multiple problems with the receptionist not listening to my all of my questions or concerns and relaying them correctly to Dr. Williamson. Today I called to talk to someone different (LVT; Jess) to stress my concerns and she did not seem to care. Needless to say now I am very disappointed and since I cannot get a phone call back nor have a person help me with my concerns about my Pet I will no longer come here nor recommend any friends or clients (since I work at a vet clinic). I am very upset with the services here and it really is disappointing that now I have to start over at another Dermatology Center.
The first year of my dog's life was spent at the vets every two weeks due to health issues (constant scratching, ear infections, etc.) I took him to Dr. Williamson over 5 years ago and we now only go to the regular vet once a year for his shots and once a year to Dr. Williamson for his yearly blood work check up. Both of our lives have improved greatly from seeing Dr. Williamson. She is very hands on and actually gets down on the floor with my dog to give him love while she examines him.
