Angels of Assisi is a true community asset for the Roanoke valley, providing low cost spay and neuter options and general vet care for pets in their clinic. Their adoption center is progressive in their programs because of continual education of their staff and partnerships with large national animal welfare organizations. They take in animals from cruelty and neglect cases under the Biscuit Fund and find them loving new homes along with rescuing pets from local pounds and taking in owner surrenders. My family and I have been regular volunteers for several years and I would highly recommend Angels of Assisi as a place to volunteer as a family; the lessons my children have learned there have been invaluable. A wonderful place to donate time and money.

Angels of Assisi is an organization that is dedicated to care and well being of all animals. Their staff is kind, caring, and professional. They are a no-kill shelter and help hundreds of homeless animals each year. They are very involved in community outreach programs: Pets for Life, Hospice, Pets for Patriot,and support for pets of Domestic Violence situations, to name a few. AoA offer affordable medical care and the ability to make appointments and view your pet's medical records and vaccination history online. Great people doing great things for our community!

Wonderful caring people working on a shoestring budget. Shame on all of you people who are complaining--this is a nonprofit and they should only serve people really in need--not cheapskates looking for inexpensive veterinary care, and especially not people who get their animals from breeders.

Adopted our deaf pit bull from Angels of Assisi. Wonderful, caring staff. They are working hard to find homes for all these wonderful homeless animals. In our case they were affiliated with Deaf Dogs Rock. The process was very efficient yet thorough. We were provided resources for providing the most secure, beneficial and nurturing environment for Mazzy (formerly Harper), including sign language and training tips. The dog had been fostered by a loving family for two weeks, getting her used to and appreciative of a home/family setting. Much time, care and expense goes into Angels of Assisi's loving assistance and placement of these animals and it shows. We are very grateful and will be donating to this organization regularly so they may continue their good work.
