TAKE your pet there. Yes, the building does need repair. But the care is top quality. At Animal Medical you get the benefit of several people caring for your pet rather than just the vet. They only Keep the employees who care and can take and learn instruction on the care of animals. This creates an environment whereby not only the two vets care, but all their employees do as well. The cost of care can get pricey for various conditions that require lab work but that is true anywhere. It is best to try to get prices up front when you know there may be big charges at any vet, then discuss what can be done alternatively when needed. I have a cat that was on the verge of dying and this vet not only saved his life, but came back to the shop to check on him later that night long after closing for follow up care. At times like that one cannot put a price on someone saving your best friend. They are also a wealth of information about what not to use out in the public that is dangerous for your pet. They freely give advice and help whenever they can. I have seen it many times when I did not need it. If one has reservations about this vet they only have to speak with them and they will know the character of their people. It will speak for itself.

I took my dog here for a procedure & it ended up costing me $1000+. She had 2 undergo it a 2nd time b/c they did it wrong the 1st time (they charged for the 2nd procedure, but not the meds). They also took it upon themselves to cut her nails & pull a tooth. Recently, I took my other dog there for an emergency. He was bleeding really bad from his penis (he's OK thank God). First of all, they didn't wear gloves when checking his rectal temp, giving him a shot & holding pressure, or when pulling his penis out 2 look @ it. They gave him a shot 2 calm him down w/o my permission & w/o knowing his allergies. Blood work, a urine test, & nail cut were also done w/o my permission. Of course, I got charged 4 all of this. This day I was going 2 pay w/ Care Credit (a credit card designed just for vet visits). They said that they didn't accept that card even though it is listed on the Web that they do. After explaining that it was the only way I could pay that day, the male vet became a very disrespectful butt. In front of everyone, he started asking me what was I thinking bringing my dog in here & getting care when I couldn't even pay him. He also asked things such as: "How can I believe U will pay me when U get your next check? Do U think this is humorous? What do U mean U don't have any money? U said U get paid in 2 weeks. That means that U just got paid, what did U do w/ all your money? What R U thinking putting something on a credit card now days anyways? Your gonna have to pay it plus interest. I'm not a humorous person @ all. I'll personally B here that day 2 see if U really R gonna pay me." This was so disrespectful, unprofessional, embarrasing, & down right rude. I will NEVER go here again! I must say that the secretary Lilly is real nice & sincere. The vet techs were also very friendly. This vet needs a heart!

I must say that the front office lady, Lilly is the best thing going for this place. The outside of the building is overgrown with shrubs and bushes, you have to walk two flights of stairs to get to the entrance too. They did recently paint the side of the building but the letters that make up the name of the place are falling off the wall. I used to take my cat there but the male vet had absolutely NO bedside manner at all. He was not compassionate in the least, just very matter of fact. The waiting room has those cheap wood and iron park benches like you buy at lowes and the walls are dirty and the ceiling tiles have been leaked on. The light fixture coverings are yellowing plastic and it just has a depressing overall feel. Do yourself and your pet and find a better veterinary office.
