I have taken my fur babies to Dr. Finkler since 1992! Ferrets, dogs, cats.....he has cared for them all! He is an amazing vet! Now my dog also sees Dr. Quatmann, who is marvelous! (My dog, Sally, is high maintenance so she now has a pair of vets!) The entire staff is great! The front office staff goes out of their way to help! The technicians and vets are all terrific! I can't imagine a more caring, helpful, friendly, qualified group of professionals to have caring for my pets! I will never go anywhere else!

Roanoke Animal Hospital has taken care of all of my dogs. The vets I have gone to have all been good. I recommend them . My only issue at present is that I cannot buy heart worm medication through them without having a complete examination of my dog. My dog is healthy, is up to date on all of her shots but it has been over a year since she was last seen. Their policy is that they cannot dispense medication if they haven't seen an animal in over a year. They would not even do a stool sample (my dog has been on heart worm, I just needed to buy more, which I will do online). I do not believe that I need to incur the expense of an exam to update my supply of heart worm. While I do not support this policy I would still recommend their service.

I love the doctors. The front desk seems to be all over the place, Keystone Cops come to mind. There appears to be very limited communication between the clerks at the desk and most of them are rude and one is even militant and rude. I really wish customer service was one of their priorities and I wish they would be up to date with technology. A website and email would be very helpful. An email mailing keeping clients updated on changes in the clinic, particularly staff changes. Nothing like an unpleasant surprise when you are trying to make appts. only to find out you can no longer see your vet!

On February 16,2009 we took our 7 year old Great Dane to Dr.Brown. He is normally agressive towards both humans and other animals, which is very out of character for Great Danes. He was having trouble with his back leg and could hardly get up without our help. He was also in a lot of pain. When we arrived we were able to take him into the exam room through a door on the side so that he would not have to see a lot of people or other animals.The entire staff was very helpful and friendly. It is very apparent that they are truly concerned about you and your pet. He warmed right up to Dr. Brown and was not agressive with her at all! After the exam and xrays, she recommended that we try medication. She was very informative about his condition and even came out and helped us lift him into our vehicle. The day after the appointment we received a phone call from Dr. Brown to see how he was doing. He has improved dramatically in only 6 days! Today he is outside running around the yard like he did when he was a puppy! We will never take him anywhere else. THEY ARE AWSOME!! Sheri & Bobby Reed

For over 40 years, Roanoke Animal Hospital has been there for our "children". ALWAYS..... I'm not sure why some of these customers have a problem with the front desk ... I have to wonder who these people are, since after all the times I've been there I have never seen any one being "rude and one is even militant and rude". The vets are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .............. Ray Williams
