Emergency vet's are all expensive, no matter where you go. They were very nice on the phone, called me with multiple updates on my baby, and spent a lot of time talking about possible diagnosis. Although it was expensive and all they did was watch my dog for the night and make sure she didn't die from a seizure, I had a good experience and felt everyone was nice and helpful.

We brought our cat into Hope with a urinary tract infection. The emergency room was pretty much our only option at that time of night. Although they were able to help our cat, it was not cheap. $1400 for overnight care. I appreciate that they helped our cat, but the prices are simply too high. We picked him up the next morning and took him to our regular vet where the charges were about 1/5 of the price for similar procedures. I will say the people that work there are very nice and helpful, but it is way too expensive.

My review will be simple, factual and to the point. They killed my 7 year old dog. No diagnosis, no compassion, no apologies, no answers, no compensation (billed me for $11,000), provided him with medication for every illness and disease imaginable that he never had nor did they diagnose him with. I requested the medical records after he passed in their care and there were pages missing, his wrong name and wrong age. But even more devastating, there were medications given that had nothing to do with him and on further research, cause respiratory distress and cardiac arrest. They don't want you to know what they are doing back there and no one thinks to look at medical records when your baby is alive and in their care. They have torn our family's heart out of us and my only hope is there is a hell and one day, my only consolation is they will burn in that hell, slowly. He only came in there with a little lethargy and he left there dead. There only answer to me, "just died, we don't know, what do you want us to with the remains?". When my husband picked him up, he had blood all over him and they never could answer where the blood came from or at the very least, cleaned him up. They shoved the most sweetest little boy you would ever meet into some cold, dark storage and will never provide any answers. I do want to thank the male that works at the front desk in the evenings. He called my husband on the side and said he could tell us but needs his job badly. Thank you for your kindness and as much as we understand you have a family to support, please if you see this and leave the company in the future, you know who we are. If that day comes, please contact us and let us know what they did to him. We know as you do, something went wrong, unintentional as it was, they got him mixed up with someone's elses pet and gave medications according to the medical records, that had nothing to do with him and his little body could not go on. That seems like the obvious reason. An autopsy revealed there was nothing wrong with him whatsoever. We wanted to let you know that through this venue and not get you in any trouble with your position there. Thank you. .

Cc:ing most of this from our review of Clocktower. The Hope Center saved our dog's life - we love them! One winter morning, I was getting ready to head somewhere and let our dog out back for a few minutes while I put my things in the car. He had been fine. A minute or two after I let him out, he was sitting very still by our back fence, in a spot he didn't tend to hang out; the next minute he was lying on his side, not moving. When I got to him, he was breathing but completely limp. No response whatsoever. I rushed him to Clocktower - calling to say we were coming. They were ready when we arrived. I don't know all of what they did, but they managed to get him to a point where he was moving around a little. From Clocktower, he went to the emergency vet in Vienna, the Hope Center (Clocktower is much closer to us). The doctors there kept working on him, and he stayed over until we were finally able to bring him home, weak but alive and on a special diet for a long time. The whole ordeal was horribly long and expensive, but we still have our dog and he seems perfectly fine today. Today, other than a sometimes sensitive stomach, he seems normal. If it wasn't for Clocktower and the Hope Center and the wonderful, caring staff at each, he would be dead. What was it that caused his non-responsiveness? We never did find a definite cause. It could have been a spider or snake bite, but there were no obvious marks. He could have nibbled on something that fell from one particular bouquet I had in the house at the time that was shedding, but he wasn't one for chewing on all that much other than toys and certain plastic items (not toys - things he'd find around) and they didn't find anything obvious in him or in his blood. We're just glad he's still with us.

I found my 15 year cat with labored breathing and she unresponsive. I knew it was probably the end but, even though it was midnight, I rushed her to Hope Center as I simply did not know what else to do. They confirmed what I assumed - that she was in the process of dying and they gave me my options. I was much more emotional than I ever expected and I'm grateful that they were kind and compassionate. They made her comfortable and gave me all the time I needed with her. This was my first experience losing a pet and though it was painful and difficult, the staff (and Dr. Rouse) at Hope Center made it bearable.
