I will not be returning to Acredale. I have been to this clinic 3 times in the last month with my dog-the front desk staff need to be replaced! They are simply techs who are over-bearing and think they know everything! Not too mention rude. Although I will say Heather who works there is one of the most pleasant people to deal with-she needs to find a new place of emploment bc this clinic sucks. Our dog went in for a routine dental cleaning on our last visit to office. My husband was contacted that afternon and told our dog was doing well and could be picked up in a few hours. The woman who called said she was our dogs "hygienist" and told him that she rec our dog get a vaccine that keep away bacteria that cause plaque and abscesses. Well little did she know I AM a real hygienist and my husband is a dentist. I have two problems with this conversation- First of all she was an 18 year old vet tech with little education-not a state licensed dental hygienist like myself who spent 4 years in college. Secondly, as dental professionals we know that there is absolutely NO vaccine that can keep bacteria away. If there was we would both be out of work! When we went to pick up the dog the stupid girl brought up the vaccine again and tried to push it on us. I told her that we were both dental professionals and asked her to thoroughly describe this "vaccine" as I knew it was bullshit. She told me she really didn't know what it was or how it worked at all. She had no info on it and wouldn't even tell me what it was called. If you are offered this "vaccine" do not get it! It is not possible to get a vaccine to ward against any bacteria in the mouth-it is a bullshit service to put money in the vets pockets! Our guess is that it is a broad spectrum antibiotic that will cause more health problems and is potentially dangerous to your pet. I now believe Acredale is a dangerous clinic to bring your pets!
