DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! In July, we boarded our two dogs at Pet House Suites which is affiliated with the Animal Care Center. We dropped them off on a Thursday and picked them up on a Monday afternoon. My dogs are playful, loving, and spoiled! My husband went to pick them up on Monday afternoon, at which time he noticed that my older dog had a swollen neck and puncture wound that was seriously infected. Not only did the Pet House Suites not notice this, they proceeded to say we brought her in like that and it just flared up or that my other dog attacked her. They never took responsibility or apologized for the condition that we found our dog in while under their care. The comments were that they didn't know my dogs or how they are suppose to look so they were unaware she was not feeling well or that she had puss/blood down the front of her neck or even a puncture wound. My older dog’s tail was tucked under, and her neck was swollen nearly to the size of a softball. Not only that, her mouth was dropping and she was drooling. HOW COULD YOU NOT NOTICE!?! What’s more, my male dog was acting odd and just not himself but luckily otherwise okay. We took the female to the vet that is associated with Pet House Suites and pretty much next store. After a wait, they looked at her but didn't clean the wound. They proceeded to shave the area which made it bleed even more. They gave her shots of steroids and antibiotics. The veterinarian went on to say this had to have occurred at home and was a possible snake bite. INCORRECT! The constant blame on us as "doggy parents" was very upsetting and inappropriate. The vet tech even went on to ask us if my male dog was the canine that came in and snipped at everyone the day he had to have heart worm testing, implying that my male dog inflicted the wounds on my older female dog. Unbelievable! The male has NEVER snipped at anyone! We are very fortunate that we got our female dog before her condition had even worsened. We called Animal Control and they were unable to get the facts from Pet House Suites either. Obviously, the by us witnessed disregard for my dog’s wellbeing is very upsetting to my husband and me, and I want to share our negative experience so that others may be spared a similar one. Based on our experience, we do not recommend this business!!!
Highly recommend you check this place out and ask lots of questions before boarding your dog here. They tell you that your pup is let out 3-4 times daily for bathroom breaks and "play time" in a gravel fenced in yard with piles of other dogs poop. We were told the reason they do not have the dogs go out or play on the grass is because it is not sanitary and they clean (bleach) the rocks daily so that any diseases or viruses does not spread between dogs. It was also explained to us that this is the reason your dog will ONLY be let out by itself. That should have been our first clue when we observed the gravel dumping area which was occupied by a very small dog and there were very large piles of poop which obviously did not belong to the small dog. In addition, the small dog was roaming around the gravel area by himself and was obviously not receiving any play time. Every thing also has a $10 charge. We wanted our dog to go out on the grass - $10. We wanted our dog to have time with other dogs - $10. We were told we could drop off our dog early or pick him up late $10....BUT...when we actually asked to pick up an hour late it became $50 and an ear full on how the women had been their since 6:30 am. We basically paid $60/day for our dog to be put in an 8x8 cell and only fed once daily. We gave specific instructions to feed 2 times daily and the amount which our pup should be fed and we were told that is no problem since they keep specific records for each dog. He came back with OVER half of his food. It is obvious our dogs basic needs were not taken care of properly. We also sent bedding with our dog which was not returned and we were told the towel could not be found. That is a little concerning since our dog was only there for 4 days. Were could the bedding have gone since he was stuck in his cell only but 4 times a day for potty breaks?! We wondered if they even gave our dog the bedding from home so that he had a familiar scent as recommended by their staff! We have never been told by other boarding establishments to provide a scent from home. It makes me wonder if the animals there experience stress. Luckily we found a friend to pick our dog in time to take him to a more attentive and caring facility and did not have to pay another $60 for a few bathroom breaks a day or someone to forget to feed our pup. If you want your dog let out a few times a day for bathroom breaks this may be the place for you. We should have realized it wasn't the best place when they had availability over the holiday. The customer service also lacks luster - they are very kind and accommodating before your drop your dog off but after that buyer beware.....
