Do not patronize this business. They will use your grief and fear for your pet to goad you into expensive treatment, and tell you that if you cant pay-up front ($700 just to diagnose ), then they will put the animal down. All the while, pushing a high interest credit plan to cover the treatment. They use high pressure sales tactics, and show very little compassion. There are many other local vet's, who are much better in price, compassion and knowledge.

Worst Place Ever... Worse than a car title loan scam... they tell you its a $98 fee... then come back with a $500 fee for X-ray's and sedation... At that point I asked for my dog back... Do they bring you the dog??? No they send someone else out to try and make a deal with lower prices... What is this a Buy here Pay here car lot???? If they where a reputable business the second person would not have come out...

I will never take an animal here again. My poor dog was lost, then hit by a car. These people took him from the police, and started medical work on him. They then decided to call me (he had my number and name on his tags) a day afterwords. They made me pay 1,000 (I'M A BROKE COLLEGE STUDENT!) which I had to take a loan out for, just to see my dog! Then they said they needed 6,000 right now to amputate his leg, or 34,000 to fix it!!! When I told them that I couldn't afford that, they SIGNED MY DOG OVER TO A RESCUE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. They then told me I still owed them $500 for 'boarding' fees. So now I'm in debt with this place and don't even have my baby because they signed him away and I lost him. There is not many places I hate, but I HATE THIS PLACE.

The Valley Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center should be used with caution. While it seems like a great idea to make emergency vet service available, beware of costs and lack of compassion. You would think that personnel caring for pets and their owners in urgent situations would be versed in tactful methods...this is not the case. I was asked if I wanted to pay before or after when I tearfully told the receptionists that we made the decision to put our sweet dog down. I stuttered when I answered her (out of surprise) and she stated "I was just asking" in a nasty tone. We told the vet tech that we would take him home after the procedure and she continued to refer to his cremation as though she was not listening at all. We were also told that our sweet dog was too big for the caskets and they would wrap him up so that he would not "leak". My sons are 15 and 18 and they found this lack of compassion senseless and hurtful. I am sorry that is where our sweet boy spent his last few hours on earth.

I cannot say enough positive things about the staff at the Valley Emergency Veterinary Clinic. The staff there is caring, compassionate and professional. We have needed to utilize their services with our family of dogs on various occasions over the years and each time they were thorough and demonstrated their great passion for their care of animals with our own furry "children." They most recently were there to support us at the loss of our beloved "Billy" and maintained the highest level of care for him - coupled with hearts of gold as we said good bye to our cherished family member. The folks in Winchester are very blessed to have this clinic and its staff available to them.
