Best in VT. Comprehensive care by excellent vets and techs, but moreover, you get a sense that the whole staff genuinely cares about your pet's well being. They were there to lend a helping hand when others simply were not, and it made all the difference. What else is there to say?
I have brought 2 cats here, and have never had a bad experience. The staff is caring and gentle, and seems genuinely concerned for the pets. During one cat's illness, I received regular phone calls to check on how he was doing. He pulled through, and I feel his success was greatly due to the treatment he received here. I strongly recommend this service.
Our rescue dog was diagnosed with lymphoma about two months ago by our local vet. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the people that I adopted her from offered to pay to send her to their vet (Hinesburg) for a second opinion. Unfortunately, they confirmed the diagnosis. However, I was really impressed with the interest and concern of the entire staff. They showed my dog much attention and kindness, in AND out of the examine room. The receptionists gave her treats and came from behind the counter to give her a pat and a scratch behind the ears. They were patient, kind hearted, soft spoken and genuine. Mya loved the attention. :) Since our visit, they have been calling every week or so to see how Mya has been doing and adjusting her meds over the phone if needed. This is all knowing that we probably will not be driving up for another visit with them (as we live an hour and a half away) and that we are still bringing her to our local vet when necessary. They call because they care, not because they are being paid to do so. (Because they are not.) They call to check in all the while knowing they most likely will never see her again. That is VERY rare for a vet to do these days. They continue to call every week or so to see how Mya is doing and if we need anything. They have been kindly synchronizing care and working with our local vet to make sure we get what we need, whether the money is going to their hospital or the other vet. They really seem to care, and as we struggle with watching our beloved girl trying to fight off cancer, they have been such a great support and relief for us. Their selflessness in this process makes me wish I lived closer to the Hinesburg area so that they could be our primary vet and after working with them, I have realized that somewhere along the way I have settled for mediocre without even realizing it. The Animal Hospital of Hinesburg has inspired me to seek out more and look for something more suitable to the needs of our family. Sincere thanks to Dr. Jennifer Elliot and everyone at The Animal Hospital of Hinesburg! Thank you for being animal loving people and for being focused on the well being of our family members and not the almighty buck. :)
