Best vet I've ever been too, even during the worst possible situation- My pet hamster was very sick and had reached the end of her life and last Saturday morning I realized she was in too much pain not to be put down any longer. I tried calling many places, all of which were either closed, booked, or wouldn't see small animals. Even with very last minute notice Onion River was able to see me and my hamster, Rawry. On top of that, they told me over the phone the cost, which I admitted to them not being able to afford, and they then insisted I bring her in anyways and that they would help me for whatever amount I could afford. They were so sweet and caring, they even sent me a hand written card in the mail about a week later. Gentle, knowledgable, kind, understanding, professional, sincere and trustworthy, I would recommend this animal hospital to anyone with a pet in need of help. I am very thankful for all they did for me and my animal, and will definitely go back there again in the future if I ever adopt another animal.
I am happy with this vet's office. I have had times I felt they were being overly helpful and pushing the bill up, and yet once you told them the services you didn't want they quickly took them off the estimate. They handle my 18 yr old cat with care. I was disappointed that the last time he was examined I saw a tech, but I guess they no longer let you meet with the Dr., my cat, being so old, I had questions. I would recommend them with the explaination they are not your old time vet and their charges show it. They are in business to make money but also to take care of your cat.
When I moved to Vermont from Massachusetts, I came with a certain level of expectations in professionals, including the veterinarians caring for the medical needs of my 4 cats. After a poor experience elsewhere, I transferred their care to Onion River Animal Hospital, even though it is much further away. Having a veterinary hospital with at least 4 veterinarians has provided a rich environment for getting the best care for my aging cats. The staff has been very professional, flexible and caring during what became frequent issues, which ultimately took each of their lives over the years. Dr. Karen Bradley has been very patient and gave me the confidence and know-how to care for my cat with chronic renal failure. He was able to live longer comfortably and happily with our administrations. She has gone above and beyond to care for the human caretaker's needs, as well as those of her patients. I highly recommend ORAH. I trust some of my most important family members to their care.
I did trust them. I just don't anymore. I will leave it at that.
