The team at BCC saved my cat's life. My cat was likely hit by a car, and upon taking her to a VCA Animal Hospital, learned she had a crushed nasal cavity, broken jaw, and required stitches in her nose. Her evaluation at VCA alone was $450, and the quoted $2-3000 for the surgery was more than I could afford, having just graduated from college only a week prior. A tech from VCA took pity on me when I started the process to euthanize my cat, as I couldn't afford the surgery, and called BCC. BCC offered to do the entire surgery (wiring her jaw, reconstructing her nasal cavity, and suturing her nose) for less than $500. My cat was out of surgery before the day was done, on a Saturday no less, and they have been nothing but wonderful since then. The surgery ended up being more expansive than the vet had originally understood it to be prior to seeing my cat, but they didn't raise the original quote they had provided me. Today, I took my cat in to get her stitches out, and I was out of the clinic in 20 minutes, on a drop-in appointment! The women in the clinic were nothing but friendly and energetic, and I seriously can't thank them enough. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the clinic, my experience, or the staff. I consider myself so incredibly lucky that the caring people at BCC were able to save my cat; I plan on making myself a regular customer to support such an awesome business.

We started coming to the Cat Clinic at Canyon Park shortly after we moved to Bothell nearly 15 years ago. The vets and all the employees have a real passion for cats and are highly knowledgeable, and I've never been disappointed in the advice or care my cats have gotten here. We moved to Bellevue in 2005 and it's a long drive so we tried some other vets in the area, but when my cats really need real medical care, not just vaccinations or check-ups, I end up back at the Cat Clinic because they've always come through with the best treatment. I agree that in the past they've been crowded to the point of chaos, but lately they have been much more orderly and we haven't had to do much waiting.

I'm torn as to how many stars I want to give this place. On the one hand, the people who work there have always been very friendly and you can tell they have a genuine passion for cats and aren't just there to collect a paycheck. On the other hand, they're always soooo busy (a good problem to have in this economy I suppose) that my wife and I have nicknamed them the "Dick's Drive In" of vets. You hurry up and give them your "order" and they crank it out as quickly as humanly possible. I don't feel they've ever given our cats the amount of time and attention they required. If they spend more than two minutes with you after the exam explaining what they found and what they did you're lucky. So in conclusion: The staff gets 5-stars for their attitude but the level of service your cat actually recieves gets 2-stars in my book.

I have to say that the vets, particularly Dr. Gawley, have little to no people skills. They are both great with the cats and their services are affordable, but frankly, I want someone who is great to me, too. I have moved my cats to Cats Exclusive in Shoreline where they have equally great bedside manner with the cats and with the human clients too. I simply got sick of getting brushed off or treated rudely by the staff (vets especially) at Canyon Park.

I've been going to the Cat Clinic for about six months trying to get to a solution with my diabetic cat needing a tooth pulled. I felt that Dr. Gawley was incredibly knowledgeable about the issues around this situation, but I never left an appointment feeling confident about what I needed to do to, or what to expect. She would usually wander in and out of the room without explanation, never even telling me when the visit was over. I'm confident that she's an excellent, cat oriented vet, but with my limited funds, and the problems caused by my cat's broken tooth, I ended up deciding to switch to a closer vet that could provide me with a more comprehensive plan that I could feel confident in. The people at the Cat Clinic definitely love their patients, and have been helpful, but when dealing with more complicated issues it may be harder to find the focus and involvement you need.
