We moved very close to Bayview Vet Hospital so it was easy for us to take our two dogs there. After using Central Valley Vet HOLY COW were we getting ripped off their! I feel the quality of care was 15X better here, and that they actually cared for you and your animals well being. I had to put my black lab down with them and they were beyond professional, let me be with her until she passed. If you need a Vet this is the place to take your animal!
I have been going to Bayview Vet for over ten years for everything from emergencies to routine shots and spaying/neutering. There has been very little staff turnover which says a lot about an employer. Everyone there is always friendly, genuinely caring and helpful. What I really appreciate is that they care so much about animals and the people who love them that they keep their prices in a range that allows animal lovers to afford to appropriately care for our pets! They are truly awesome to animals, and are not greedy like most of the small animal practices around Kitsap!
My name is Marie, my breeder introduced me to this clinic when I bought my yorkie. Several months later my yorkie needed surgery to extract a tooth and needed to be spay. The pre-op blood test I had done indicated a high liver enzyme. This test usually indicate a liver problem and/or a shunt . I asked them if they could fix my dog the receptionist asked the doctor and came back and recommended that I call VCA. because they are not equipped to repair a shunt in their hospital. So I called VCA and they performed the surgery and also did a biopsy of the liver to rule out a shunt. My yorkie was diagnosed with a micro vascular dysplasia an internal liver shunt. I contacted Dr Young and informed him of the diagnose and asked if he would talk to the breeder because he knows her well. I wanted him to inform her that it is a congenital condition and suggested that she test her dog for her future breeding decision (the breeder did not want to believe her dog could carry such a gene). His opinion was that this constituted hearsay, that I had a vendetta to prove and his time was very valuable . I am complaining, not for the fact that they would not do the surgery they could not and I understood that. The receptionist suggested I call VCA an other hospital. My complain is about the lack of compassion I received when I informed Dr Young that my dog was sick. Anyone with a sick dog would understand this. I gave one star because the receptionist is very nice and helpful. I will never return.
Marie, You state they wouldnt do the surgery, but then you state because the POST-OP blood test, showed a problem, sorry but that doesnt make much sense, but assuming you meant PRE-OP blood test, I think its great they didnt want to put your animal at risk, if they dont have the resources to take care of any problems that might arrive from doing the surgery with some other problems going on. I have a vet in Port Orchard, who recently I changed from to this one, THEY are very caring and its not ALL about money!!
I have taken many pets to bayview many times, they are affordable and really seem concerned with your pets. They are very helpful and are always available to offer information even just over the phone and they always are able to fit you in for an appointment quickly most of the time same day. They have the best rates in town and provide great care. I really feel like I get my moneys worth when I take my pets to the bayview staff!
