My only regret was not finding this place sooner! My cat, Mickey, swallowed some packaging foam and went without food for a few days. His symptoms were worrisome and I thought he might have ingested something poisonous. Initially I took him to a different vet that wasn't open weekends who, in turn, referred me to ACCES. Professionally not what I expected, but they performed an ultrasound which by itself cost more than the entire previous vet visit (checkup, blood test, re-hydration, etc)! However, it did reveal an obstruction. I had to borrow some money (due to previous visits) but Jason at Kirkland Animal quoted a decent price for surgery and I jumped! At 11pm Saturday! Best vet service I can recall, excellent surgical and pricing information. Took Mickey in right away and Dr. Kissinger provided all necessary information for us to proceed. I cannot stress how thankful I am for taking Mickey in. They performed equal or, more likely, better procedures with clear and direct guidance. Additional invasive and uncomfortable procedures neglected, helping in recovery and price. He was able to stay until Monday morning at which point he was tired and confused; they made sure his stay was comfortable, clean and least harmful on his incision. All assumptions based on a few observations: this was the only vet that had a steel table, proper flooring and sterile environment in the examination room. Also warm waiting area! Mickey's back to his regular self, a bit more affectionate perhaps. His recovery was quick and worry (although not attention) free! Nearby resident of downtown Seattle, would gladly drive from further distance.
I've been coming to Kirkland Animal Emergency for several years and recieved both excellant service and a one time not so good service. My unpleasant experience was with one doctor so I think that was an isolated experience. Every other time I have visited the hospital, the staff & docs were nice with the exception of Nadia and doc McGough. This team was amazing during our visit last night. I brought my sick cat in last night thinking he would have to put down. We said our goodbyes and expected to leave the hospital without our cat. When doctor McGough came in, she explained all my options in such a compassionate and loving way that we ended up trying a new medication for felix and coming back home with him. At a time when we were so distraught and vulnerable, both doctor McGough and Nadia were extremely caring, supportive, and understanding, It is very obvious how much they truly love your animal by the way they talk to them, and handle them - just overall everything about this team turned an unbearable situation, to a comforting and reassuring visit Love both of them for the care they gave us!.
What can I say? The Kirkland Animal Emergency Hospital took wonderful care of my little Shadow. At this time he is extremely ill and may not make it. The Kirkland Animal Emergency Hospital has treated him like their very own family member, their own little four pawed furry doggy companion. You can see the compassion and love in their eyes and their treatment. The animals don't sit in empty cages or cages with a few towels at the bottom. These cages are loaded with blankets and so cushy I could fall asleep in them. My little guy had constant care and the vet techs were always making sure he was comfy and safe. The Kirkland Animal Emergency Hospital is always open for communication. You can call anytime and they will also call you with information quite often. I loved having all the information as often as possible. It made me feel like I was in the loop and it really showed how professional they are. Kirkland Animal Emergency Hospital is also extremely fairly priced. The other emergency hospitals I looked into were 2-3 times as expensive and often times significantly larger. One would assume these extremely large facilities would not provide the tender loving care the Kirkland Animal Emergency Hospital would provide. Dr. Angel was absolutely amazing. You can tell she truly wants the best for Shadow and I couldn't imagine receiving better care anywhere else. Not only did she care, she was also extremely knowledgeable. There wasn't one time where I was concerned about Shadow not receiving the best care possible. Dr. Angel even shared some of her lunch with Shadow because he was refusing to eat any food. She truly is Shadow's guardian angel. The people of Kirkland and their furry companions are blessed to have her on duty. Here is another tidbit to show how much these people care about their patients. When Shadow was leaving for an outpatient visit one of the techs started to tear up. You can't fake this type of emotion. She then kissed him on the nose. Thank you Kirkland Animal Emergency Hospital, Dr. Angel, all the other veterinarians and vet techs. I appreciate all of the loving care you gave and are giving Shadow. No matter how things turn out I will always have a very positive memory of your facility and staff.
