Love it here! These people love the animals that come in here and take great care of them! They knew every single dog by heart where as other shelters when you asked about a dog most of the time they didn't know which one and you had to show them. I did a lot of research before coming here and it was worth it! If I was able to adopt more dogs here I would, we love our garbanzo and are so grateful to have him in our lives. I keep up on every dog now that comes through here so in the future if we are able I will know which one to bring home
We adopted our dog Mitch (Rat Terrier/Chihuahua) from there. He is the best dog "ever" owned. The people there were so nice that when we got another dog we've taken him there as well. It is a small place, and a bit of a drive from Ft. Lewis. But they are very friendly and you can get appointments right away. The prices are good, and they take their time with you. They answer all your questions, and you never feel rushed.
We have been there several times to get our puppy vaccinated and then spayed. I will continue to go there. Staff is very patient and knowledgeable. They call you back when they say they will, it is easy to get an appointment and they are not over priced.
Illlina Berton, DVM, didn't just save the life of our beloved orange tabby- though that would have been enough - she, and the entire, incredible staff of the East Main Animal Hospital worked to ease our cat's intense pain (after having been attacked by dogs, our cats internal organs were hanging from his abdomen upon arrival), while also easing some of the financial burden on our family. They went above and beyond; at every turn showing their true animal-loving colors. It was the sort of thing that restores one's faith in humanity. One month later, our cat, Floyd, who was on death's door, is alive and well. Illlina Berton is a skilled surgeon, and EMAH is staffed by certified saints!
As a result of the poor hygiene of this establishment, our dog required another visit to our family veterinarian and yet another round of medication. I would urge strong caution before conducting business with this establishment.
