My cat had to be euthanized because I took it here. Rather than focusing on providing care for your pet they are focused on performing every services that they can possibly bill you for. My cat took a turn for the worse right after I had him neutered there and they immediately assumed it was leukemia or FIV. Turns out it was an abscess, which i would expect a licensed professional would be able to diagnose if they were objectively looking at the information that was provided rather than focusing on ways to bill me. When I brought my cat in after it opened up, the first thing they told me was "This wound wasn't caused by us" and that i needed to got ACCESS in order to give him proper treatment. Too late the infection had spread too deep and caused damage that would only be fixed with very very expensive surgery. I would never subject myself or any future pets to going to this place again.
I went to the Kent location back in July and had a horrible experience. My cat was diagnosed with kidney failure and we were given azoydl to treat. First I was told I had to buy it from them, that I could not get the pills on line. This was not true. I bought the second round of pills on-line for a third of the price. Next, I was never told that the azoydl was supposed to be refrigerated. When I got my next prescription on-line, THEY told me the pills needed to be refrigerated. So the first 45 days my poor kitty had been getting un-viable medication; basically left untreated. I was very upset and called the clinic 3 times thinking they would do something to make this right, at least check my kitty out to see how the kidney disease had progressed. Left messages for the program director and nurse line. I never received a call back. At this point I took my cat to another vet. Guess what? Upon further testing we learned that she does NOT have kidney failure. It was a misdiagnosis. I am still scratching my head as to why I never heard from the clinic. ---Marina Peck & Kitty Mylee
This is by far the best pet clinic I have been to. I have had some pretty unpleasant experiences with other Renton vets, I have two Yorkies with heart conditions. One vet kept trying to put Pippin down every time we went in for anything. (He lived to be seven). The others had staff that weren't knowledgeable enough to answer questions without acting like it was a bother. So I was happy when Animal Health Care Center opened. I took Gizmo for a checkup and was very impressed. The staff there were so caring and patient with Gizmo, it was like he was their own pet. The office is spotless,as are the exam rooms. There was no long wait for the Dr. The Drs. were amazing. They explained the need for any tests they recommended, but there was no pressure. You can tell that they really care about the animals they see. While sitting in the waiting room I met a couple who couldn't praise the Drs. enough. They had kept this couples dog alive through a lot of bad health issues. He was 12 and still looked and acted like a puppy. I will continue to take Gizmo and his cat brother there for the rest of their lives. I would (and have) recommend this office to anyone who loves their fuzzy family members. Sincerely, Cheryl Moncrief
I have been going to Animal Health Care now going on almost 2 years. Very conscientious, caring and they don't make you wait hours a total plus... Pongo had gotten into something and needed to be seen. They were busy that day concerned for my pup they took the time to see him for a moment and helped me get him seen by another vet in the area. Putting my Pongo 1st above all. I then received a call of follow up from them making sure he was ok. They are reasonable in price, their facility is clean and I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you for the exceptional service and taking such wonderful care of my Pongo and Gizmo. You go above and beyond... Please note: it is Truly Noticed... :)
I've taken my cat and two dogs to Animal Health Care Center for many years. Dr. Wood is a compassionate, caring doctor who loves the animals. My dogs have had the greatest care for their chronic ailments. I highly recommend Dr. Wood and her staff at the Animal Health Care Center.
