Ed Haigh is my boxer's new veterinarian. I actually live in Kirkland near Seattle, but I make the trek down to Shelton because Ed is the best veterinarian I've seen in 30 years. I originally took my pooch to local vets in the Seattle area and they not only misdiagnosed her multiple times, they charged an arm and a leg for their incorrect diagnoses. My dog had to endure extra weeks of misery being subjected to painful, expensive, and useless daily treatments and got with no change in her condition. If I had continued with the vet in Burien, my pooch would have lost her eye to a treatable ulcer and I would have paid through the nose for the multiple incorrect treatments. Haigh Veterinary Hospital not only diagnosed her correctly the first time, they are less expensive than all the other vets I've been to with various pets. I hate driving, but the Haigh Veterinary Hospital is so worth it, I'll just have to bite the bullet and do it.
My usual vet could not see my dog during an emergency because they were in a "staff meeting." I called the Haigh Vet Clinic and Ed Haigh saw my dog. Based on the severe symptoms (unable to walk, trouble breathing) Ed was very thorough. He recommended X-rays of the chest and gave us an estimate before anything was done. After the X-rays, he saw there was good enough reason for a referral to a specialist, and was kind enough to warn us that these situations can often turn out for the worse. Long story short, our dog passed away on us after going through two more specialists, one in Tacoma and then a cardiologist in Kirkland. He passed away about 24 hours or so later. If it hadn't been for Ed Haigh, our dog would have suffered tremendously. He had a tumour that no one knew about, the size of a baseball, and the cancer had spread to his heart, which was enlarged and could not pump enough blood to keep his body going. So, I have moved all my animals to this Clinic and I am much more comfortable with the local, "down home" type of service I get from the Haighs. I doubt my animal's emergency will be put off because they are in a "staff meeting."
Diagnosed my dog with Salmon poisoning over the phone, was able to see me Saturday. Dog is doing great. I found they are very knowledgeable and reasonable.
This is a great and caring place to take your animals. Caring and knowledgeable staff. They have treated my horses my dogs and my cat.
