They performed a spay on my eight month old lab mix. Besides taking great care of my pup, the staff was very professional and friendly. My mind was put to ease after meeting with Dr. Stanhope prior to the operation. His knowledge and experience was reflected in his communication. The facilities provided a great value and the cost was competitive when compared to the other veterinarians that I researched. I am glad that I had a chance to familiarize myself with their services as they operate 24hrs, in case of emergency, and offer boarding care in case of vacations. Cheers.
I've been using St Francis for several years for all of my pets (dogs and cats) and they've always been wonderful. The doctors are genuine and caring - they walk into the exam room and will often squat or sit on the floor to let my dog greet them.I recently went through a surgical procedure with one of my dogs - and was incredibly stressed and emotional about it. The front desk staff as well as the techs and doctors were all very understanding and kind to both me and my dog. And I can't say enough the peace of mind I get at knowing that if something happens to my pet on the weekend or late in the evening, I have a place to go.
I have been a client at St Francis for over 10 years. I have always been treated with respect and my animals have always had kind and compassionate care. I recently had to put my 10 year old German Shepherd down, and while a heart-breaking experience, I was very grateful that Dr. Baker and his staff were so very kind to Olive and me. I trust them completely, and would not go anywhere else.
I brought my puppy in late one night because he got a cut that needed stitches. They took him back and wrote up a few estimates for the stitches. They insisted on neutering him as well because it would be cost effective. Their prices were definitely higher than I was expecting to pay but because I knew my dog needed it and really didn't have a choice. he was spending the night there, getting stitches, neutered and a rabies shot. I also asked if they could also cut his nails and they responded, "yes we always cut the animals nails while they are with us." We were in and out within one hour. The next day I picked up my dog. The bill was what they quoted, I set up the free follow-up appointment, and we were on our way. I noticed that his nails weren't cut on the way home and thought that was weird. I rechecked the receipt and saw they also didn't give him a rabies shot. However his eye was doing fine and he was neutered, no harm no foul. I went to the FREE check up a week later and it was a completely different experience. I went in and was checked into the room where my dog and I sat for 30-45 minutes before being helped. They were apparently busy and wanted to do a "quick check"... little late for that at this point but I went with it anyways (Note: the place appeared to be very slow, was much busier when I went the first time). I mention to them he seems fine but wanted him to check his ears because they were bugging him. They bring him back and said they ran tests on his ears and wanted to prescribe medication. At this point its an hour and a half later and I'm tired of sitting in this tiny room. I get out of there and go to the front counter to pay for the newly issued medication. $135!!!!! Apparently since I asked them to look at his ears that was authorization to override the "free exam" ($40), authorize testing ($20) and the medication ($75). I have had dogs with serious ear problems (his are minor) and never did medication cost that price. I of course argued and the vet wouldn't even come out and talk to me. I will NEVER go back here. I have been going to the same vet for 12 years and have never been treated or nickle and dimed the way I was at St Francis. I am in no way poor and would have happily paid twice what I was charged IF they could have communicated this and have been timely. Instead they overcharged me and wasted way too much of my time. I am beyond frustrated with this business.
I noticed on Memorial Day, my cat scoobydo, was having a problem with his rear end. I called them and they said I could bring him in. Took him in, we were treated very professional with loving care for Scooby. Even on a Holiday, the prices were very reasonable. There are closer vets, but haven't found one I liked better. Thanks Now it is 2014. Every year he gets this auto immune eruption, looses his hair at certain parts of him. This year it was from his foot all the way up the let and down the side of his body. I had taken him in to have him put to sleep, when Dr. Stanhope said lets try it once more. So glad we did and now 1 month later, hair is back and all the bumps have disappeared. Thank you again so much 10/3/14
