I had a great experience at VCA. A few weeks ago, my cat came into my family's home, limping and with a gash on her nose that obviously needed sutures. We took her to VCA because we knew it would be open on a Saturday. Turned out, my cat had likely been hit by a car. Having just graduated college literally one week prior, I was flat broke, and while I wanted to make sure my cat was okay, I let the technician know at the beginning of my walk-in that I was on an extremely tight budget (more like no budget...). The veterinarian that examined my cat was worried she had suffered skull/spinal damage, and began listing numbers and quotes for x-rays, sutures, examinations, and pain medication. It was hard to determine was "necessary" versus "on the side of caution," and while I wanted the best for my cat, I simply didn't have enough money to cover even the essential X-rays. The veterinarian was amazing; she went above and beyond to make the process affordable for me, until we got news that my cat needed surgery for a broken jaw. The quote was outside what my family could lend me, and I broke down when I realized that I would have to put my cat to sleep, solely because there wasn't enough money in my bank accounts. The vet and one of the technicians then made an effort to keep my cat under anesthesia while they called around to private clinics in the area, looking for a quote that I could possibly afford. After around 20 minutes, they came back to let me know that a private clinic up in Bothell offered to do the surgery for 1/4 of the "guesstimated" price I was originally given. I didn't ask for the help, and I'm sure it isn't something that they practice as a standard; I was floored by how emphathic the employees of this animal hospital were to my issue. My cat has now had her surgery and is doing well; she gets the wire out of her jaw in a month! I found out that the VCA veterinarian actually called my family to follow up on my cat; that kind of care is immeasurable. Yes, VCA can be rather pricey; but they are a chain of animal hospitals, and for the help I was given, I'd say it was worth every dollar.

my first experiance with Sno-Wood animal hospital was when my late dog pearl was attacted by another dog though i lost her the Drs did what they could to fix the damage done to her they couldnt save her it was very hard for me to put her down and the staff and Dr was very supportive . Since that time I have a new puppy spike who loves the staff at sno-wood as well as I do they are very friendly and treat spike as if he was their very own pet I would send all my friends to VCA for all their pet needs Thank You Sno- Wood Spike and I are looking forword to our next visit

I've been bringing my pets (cats and rabbits) to this veterinary clinic since 1994, and the only criticism I have is that there's been a fairly high turnover in veterinary staff. That said, I've been very happy with the caring attitude of all the vets who have cared for my animals. They are quick to respond via email or phone calls, take the time to check in and see how my pets are doing after they've been ill, offer a variety of options and explain the pros and cons so I can weigh the expense against the possible benefits, etc. The vet techs and front desk staff are also warm and friendly. There are other veterinary clinics much closer to my house but I make the effort to drive there because I've been so happy with the care my animals receive.

I just returned from my dogs vet appointment. They were three times as expensive as my last vet (who was considered one of the best in the area). It was filthy and they recommended unnecessary surgeries and medications using scare tactics that my child would get sick or go blind. I have one of the friendliest dogs I've met, and she was terrified the minute she stepped in the building and because of her nervousness they muzzled her. I do not intent on returning and I intend on returning the medication they pushed on me.

While the receptionist was friendly, the vet had no idea what she was doing. The vet brought a text book back to the exam room to research what could be wrong with my pet and suggested various costly tests. I left not knowing what was wrong with my pet and $60 poorer. After consulting with the internet, I figured out my pet had a common problem with an easy solution. I contacted them and asked them to prescribe me a shampoo (which I later found the shampoo at a feed store for $13) which they refused until I purchased a $75 test. I do not trust them and will not return.
