As a new patient I was surprised and pleased that they were able to fit me in right away this morning for a semi-emergency visit. The tech was just wonderful, she explained everything that they would do and even gave me an estimate of the cost before coming in. The vet was great too. I highly recommend this veterinarian clinic. It was a pleasant and inexpensive! Regarding other's reviews; not once did they add on any costs, her initial estimate was almost on the dot, also they didn't recommend anything above an beyond what I needed.
The staff seems nice and the facility is beautiful, however my experience with them has been negative. They appear to sell you things and procedures that are unnecessary. It is very uncomfortable to go in, as every time we went they would try to upsale EVERYTHING. It is constant, and I am not sure other reviewers picked up on this, but it was definitely obvious by the 3rd time we were there. Examples of this would be asking for a stool sample every time we went in to add on a fee of $30. Our puppy was 6 months old and they wanted to do oral surgery to take out two baby teeth. The estimate was $300!!! The vet told us she would not lose her teeth, and would need them taken out. Needless to say, one month later she lost the teeth!!!!! It is very obvious that the staff is highly encouraged to get customers to say yes to extra lab work and unnecessary tests that increase the overall cost.
We had just adopted a dog from the FDL humane society and after about a week and a half, our pup got pretty sick...severe diarrhea and vomiting. We called all over the place and no one was able to get us in on such short notice but Companion Animal Care went out of the way to squeeze us in as a courtesy because we adopted from FDL. Its a good thing they did, too, as he had a bacterial infection and was very dehydrated. The staff was compassionate and very thorough in explaining everything they were doing and the follow up treatments he would need which was very reassuring since we've never had a dog before. The prices seemed pretty reasonable when asking others what they typically pay at the vet. We live in Oshkosh but will continue to make the trip to FDL :)
This facility is over priced, and the staff appear to dig into customer's wallets. They add on costs, and attempt to sell over priced things such as a $16 toothbrush. Honestly, their fees are more than human health care. If you want to over pay, this is the place for you.
