Took my 9 year old cat to City Animal Hospital on Silver Spring and had a fine experience. The staff was welcoming and the nurse was very attentive and caring. Dr. Sharma was informative and kind. My cat has had some serious digestive issues, and while we await blood results I've been given some vitamin supplement liquid and another medication in the meantime. It can be hard to review a clinic when your animal is not doing well- medicine is not magic unfortunately, but the staff here at this clinic is wise and genuine. They also worked with me on my payment (I used Care Credit, though it has a low credit limit)- and even gave me 2 items (special food and a urine test) that I did not have to pay for at the time of this visit. I picked this clinic because it offers 24/hr emergency care as well as regular vet care- so I assumed that they may have experience with many types of medical concerns. I am glad I went and am looking forward to working with them if need be in the future. Good luck to you all.

This place is awful. I've been searching for a vet that actually cares about animals for awhile..well this is definitely not the place. The main vet couldn't care less. I took my dog there for an ear infection and $400 later (!) we left with some medicine that caused him to go partially deaf after a few days. We went back into the vet a few days later to get his teeth cleaned. I obviously brought up my concerns about his hearing, and the vet almost completely disregarded what I was saying. He said "well that happens with old age, he's probably just ignoring you on purpose". Are you kidding? I think I know if my dog is having hearing problems or if he's just ignoring me. For some reason, I still let them clean his teeth, which my dog had to be put under for. The vet called a few hours later and left a voicemail saying everything went great and that they would call back to let me know if I could pick up today or tomorrow. I was furious. Never ever did they once mention my dog having to stay over night. I called back right away over and over. No answer. I went to the clinic, they were closed... A half hour before they were supposed to be. Obviously I am livid by this point. Finally I get a call saying that I can pick my dog up hours after I was originally told. So this vet left my dog to wake up from his anesthesia all alone. That is wrong on so many levels. I could go on more but I think you get the point. Never go to this place.

The prices are affordable however I don't think I would recommend this place to anyone. Just recently went to take my dog for her rabies shot and then he offered me for grooming service. That got me interested because he said they would do the full groom, then I asked for the price and he said it was going to be around $400! Like wth! The vet likes to jip you off too, he will say it ranges from here to here but then it's over that price he offered. -_-'' not recommended.

I highly regret taking my cat, and best friend, here. The vet handled my adult cat WAY too aggressively. My cat is the sweetest, most loving cat in the world, in my 17 years with her, I have NEVER heard her growl at anyone, but she did at this vet. I did not feel satisfied with his answers to my questions and I feel like I had to ask the same questions over and over again to get a somewhat satisfactory answer. I feel like he did not give me all of my possible options for how to go about taking care of my sick kitty. I am absolutely horrified at how rough he was with her to get a urine sample (she had it done at other vets and was slightly uncomfortable, but nothing like the howling discomfort she experienced here). I am worried he may have injured or bruised her because she was having difficulty walking immediately after he handled her so roughly. I was absolutely mortified by this experience and was in tears by the time we got home. He charged me $300 for an exam and blood work. I was not allowed to be with her while they were drawing blood (this is very unusual for a vet clinic, every other place I’ve been to, they do everything right in front of me, even let me hold her, and explain to me everything that is going on), which took 20 minutes and he handed her back to me with a shaved neck and alcohol AND BLOOD all over her fur. I do not trust this doctor and don’t know if I can forgive myself for not taking my cat and walking right out of that clinic after seeing how rough he was with her initially. This visit also didn’t even address the issue my cat was having, or any issue. I feel like he abused my cat and stole my money. I hate this place. I will never return.

I took my dog here because there was something wrong with her eye and she was not able to open it and had to be seen. I had received a flyer in the mail for a free exam for first time clients and since I was new to the area and didn't have a vet yet, I figured I would try them out. The vet tech came into the exam room coughing and sniffling everywhere. I was cringing to be in the same room with him with my daughter knowing he was there obviously sick. Needless to say, we both were sick a few days later. Why was he at work that day? When the vet came in they aggressively put her on the exam table so she was shaking so hard and her anal glands expressed everywhere. He ran a dye test in my dog's eye and said that the cat had scratched her and he was going to give her some drops for me to take home. He then talked me into getting her anal glands expressed among many other things he tried to push.He had mentioned to get my 15 year old cat declawed which I find to be completely inhumane and I would never suggest to anyone yet alone do to any of my pets. I didn't even think vets did that anymore! When I expressed to him that I thought it was inhumane esp to a cat over a year old his response was well what do you think spaying and neutering is? Are you kidding me?!?!? Completely different things here! What a jerk!!!! Needless to say he ripped me off and I was so shocked when my bill came. My daughter and dog were so uncomfortable in there. My daughter was screaming and my dog was shaking running for the door. Horrible experience this guy should be shut down. I have been to many vets in my life but non as bad as this. Please don't bring your pet here. 3 weeks later and my dog's eye has not improved! I work in the animal industry and when I told my co-workers my experience they were appalled. What a waste of money I wish I took her else where.
